This year's "The Little Cicada" song festival has 98 teams from secondary schools, high schools, vocational training centers and continuing education centers in Ho Chi Minh City. With the theme "Proud of students of the city named after Uncle Ho", the teams will bring to the program performances related to love for homeland, country, family affection, pride in being a student of Ho Chi Minh City... throughout the period from August 2 to September 14 (final round).

It is known that this is a traditional activity of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City in collaboration with Dam Sen Water Park organized annually in the summer, and is one of the healthy playgrounds for schools to exchange and learn. Pham Huynh Anh Tuan, a student of Mac Dinh Chi High School (District 6), excitedly said: "Although we are the first performing group, we cannot avoid being nervous, but we have prepared very enthusiastically and are confident that we will make it to the next round."

As a parent attending with her child, Ms. Ha Thi Khuyen (residing in Go Vap District) expressed surprise because the teams' performances were "more magnificent than imagined". "Students today are very talented and invest a lot in their performances. I hope that there will be many similar events to maximize the musical and artistic talents and creativity of students", Ms. Khuyen said.

Meanwhile, musician Bui Anh Ton, a member of the jury, assessed the performances at the opening day of the festival as being good. "Most of the students were creative in their harmonies, arrangements, and arrangements, which were very good and youthful," musician Anh Ton shared. It is known that today's event had the participation of teams from the following high schools: Le Hong Phong High School (District 5), Tran Dai Nghia High School (Thu Duc City), Nguyen Thi Minh Khai High School (District 3), and Mac Dinh Chi High School.

According to information from the organizing committee, this is the 5th year the Little Cicada Song Festival has had the participation of secondary school students. This is also the 2nd year the program has organized an additional group C - competing by video clip for units that are unable to participate directly. In general, this is considered a playground that contributes to promoting cultural and artistic activities, creating conditions for the development of cultural and artistic activities at school.
