On November 14, Mr. Phan Phuoc Mo, Chairman of the People's Committee of Dai Cuong Commune (Dai Loc District) informed that the amount of water flowing from upstream caused many locations on the Vu Gia River passing through the commune to suffer serious landslides.
According to Mr. Mo, landslides have appeared since last year, concentrated on the road leading to Khuong My village. In recent days, severe erosion has begun, threatening more than 200 households in the village.
This landslide is nearly 100m long, about 5m deep into the mainland; many places are only more than 100m away from people's houses.
Today, the leaders of the District People's Committee and the District Disaster Prevention and Rescue Committee came to inspect and propose a temporary solution to overcome the landslide by driving bamboo stakes and stacking sandbags to hold the slope.

Local authorities mobilized nearly 200 people including police, militia and people to reinforce landslide sites.
Dai Loc District Party Secretary Nguyen Hao informed that the authorities are urgently working to temporarily fix the landslide. When the rainy season passes, the district will find a long-term solution and will report to the Provincial People's Committee if it exceeds the local capacity.
