To proactively respond to floods, the Provincial Border Guard has coordinated with other forces to establish 28 checkpoints at flooded areas, to disseminate information and provide guidance to people to ensure safety. At the same time, localities have evacuated 217 households/813 people in Huong Phung and Ba Long communes to safe places.
By 12 noon on November 17, heavy rains and floods had caused a landslide in a house in Khe Sanh commune; 41 livestock and poultry in Huong Hiep commune were swept away.

Specifically, flooded areas include: National Highway 9B at underground Km41+900, Km43+700 (Kim Ngan commune) flooded 0.2-0.4m; National Highway 15D at Dakrong spillway/Km0+307 (La Lay commune) flooded about 1m.
In addition, provincial road 586 at Km3+937 spillway is flooded 50cm, Km5+569 spillway is flooded 60cm, Km12+771 spillway is flooded 50cm, Km30+900 spillway is flooded 50cm, Km36+500 spillway is flooded 60cm. Provincial road 587 at La Lay spillway Km1+700 is flooded 40-50cm. Provincial road 588a at Km1+600 (Huong Hiep commune) is flooded 0.5m, spillways from Km2+800 onwards are flooded over 1.4m deep; from Km9+800 to Ba Long spillway/Km11+240 (Ba Long commune) is flooded 6m.

53 points, flooded roads in communes, including: Nam Hai Lang 11 points, Huong Lap 4 points, Khe Sanh 3 points, Kim Ngan 4 points, Dakrong 9 points, Lia 1 point, La Lay 3 points, Ben Quan 2 points, Huong Hiep 4 points...
190 households with 644 people were flooded in the communes, including: Huong Hiep 54 households/162 people and Nam Hai Lang 136 households with 482 people.
