Nearly half of universities have centers to support students and start-ups.

NDO - Implementing the "Project to support students in starting a business by 2025", 100% of universities and vocational training institutions have plans to implement the Project and to date, 43.5% of universities have established centers to support students in starting a business.

According to the report of the Department of Students, Ministry of Education and Training , in the period of 2017-2025 in Decision 1665/QD-TTg dated October 30, 2017 of the Prime Minister, 100% of higher education institutions and vocational training institutions have plans to implement the "Project to support students in starting a business by 2025"; 100% of training institutions have issued plans to propagate and implement the Project; 43.5% of higher education institutions have established centers to support students in starting a business.

From 2020-2024, there will be more than 33,800 startup projects of students. Of which, the number of startup projects of middle and high school students will reach 8,700 projects.

There are approximately 300 startups, incubated by highereducation institutions from 2020 to present. There are 3 projects of middle and high school students that have been implemented in the community and have initial revenue.

The Ministry of Education and Training is the Standing Agency of the Project. Recently, it organized a workshop on "Sharing experiences in implementing the Project to support students in starting a business until 2025 and orienting the development of tasks and solutions in the period 2026-2035".

Director of the Department of Students, Ministry of Education and Training Hoang Duc Minh said that the opinions at the workshop mentioned issues and solutions from general to detailed, about the project's subjects, institutions, policies, startup ecosystem, implementation model, business connection, etc. in the past and orientation for the project's development process in the coming time.

According to the draft Project for the next phase, the goal by 2030 is: 100% of vocational education institutions include creative startups in their mission and vision; 100% of universities, vocational education institutions, and general education institutions have programs to impart entrepreneurial spirit to students; Issue standards for staff advising and supporting students in starting businesses; Vietnam's student skills index is in the top 50 in the world ...
