Meeting with former officials, workers and employees of the irrigation sector in Quang Nam - Da Nang

ĐNO - On the morning of July 26, more than 200 former cadres, workers and civil servants of the Quang Nam - Da Nang irrigation sector attended a meeting to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the traditional day of the Vietnamese irrigation sector (August 28, 1945 - August 28, 2025) and 50 years of formation and development of the Quang Nam - Da Nang irrigation sector.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Van Phu Chinh, Head of the Quang Nam - Da Nang Irrigation Retirement Liaison Committee, emphasized: in the former Quang Nam - Da Nang province and Da Nang city today, every commune and ward from the mountains to the plains and islands has the mark of large and small irrigation works, with the sweat and effort of many generations of cadres, engineers, workers and laborers in the irrigation sector.

Identifying "Irrigation as the leading measure" with decisive significance for intensive farming, increasing crops, and expanding cultivated area, the Party Committee and provincial government at that time promptly launched a widespread and enthusiastic movement for the entire people to do irrigation.

“With the motto of “three combinations” in irrigation, many large, medium and small irrigation systems and works have been quickly built and put into production, gradually solving the food shortage situation in the area.

Typical examples include the large irrigation systems of Phu Ninh Lake, Khe Tan Lake, Cam Van, Bich Bac, Vinh Dien electric pumping stations, etc. Medium and small irrigation systems such as Vinh Trinh, Thach Ban, Hoa Trung, Dong Nghe Lakes, etc. The fairly complete irrigation system across the province has made an important contribution to the socio -economic development of Quang Nam - Da Nang province, changing the face of the homeland," said Mr. Van Phu Chinh.

At the meeting, delegates reviewed the glorious tradition of the industry, expressed gratitude for the contributions of generations of cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers, and shared joy and inspired the younger generation to continue preserving and promoting the precious tradition of the irrigation industry.
