In this training camp, the Vietnam U22 team will participate in the CFA Team China 2025 international football tournament, held in China. This year, the Chinese Football Association (CFA) continues to maintain a high-quality lineup of invited teams from various regions of Asia to increase competition and improve the skills of young players. Besides the familiar invited teams, Vietnam U22 (Southeast Asia) and Uzbekistan U22 (Central Asia), the tournament also features a very strong East Asian team, South Korea U22.
The Vietnam U22 team will play their opening match against South Korea U22 at 2:30 PM on March 20th. Following that, the Vietnamese team will face Uzbekistan U22 at 6:35 PM on March 23rd, and then clash with the host nation, China U22, on March 25th.
Vietnam U.22's match schedule in China
This is the second consecutive time the Vietnam U22 team has received an invitation to participate in a high-quality tournament in China. The previous tournament took place in September 2024, where the Vietnam U22 team, under the guidance of acting head coach Dinh Hong Vinh, had three very useful "test matches" against China U22 (lost 1-2), Uzbekistan U22 (lost 1-2), and Malaysia U22 (won 2-1).
Due to the timing coinciding with the FIFA Days training camp in March 2025 for the Vietnamese national team, coach Kim Sang-sik has continued to entrust the head coach position of the Vietnam U22 team participating in the CFA Team China 2025 international football tournament to assistant coach Dinh Hong Vinh. According to the plan, on March 17th, the Vietnam U22 team will travel to China to participate in the CFA Team China 2025 international U22 tournament.
