Coffee price today February 6, 2025: World coffee prices increase strongly again

According to Mr. Nguyen Nam Hai - Chairman of the Vietnam Coffee and Cocoa Association (VICOFA), more than 90% of the coffee area in the country has been harvested. From the beginning of the season, many experts estimated that the output would decrease by 10-15% compared to the same period last year, but at this point, we can be optimistic that the output will only decrease slightly by about 5%.

Currently, some regions continue to harvest late-ripening coffee. Overall, the harvest has ended. With high prices, this season is a “big win” for coffee growers.

The Central Highlands is experiencing a dry season with above-average temperatures and low rainfall. This could continue to impact coffee bean quality, reducing yields and driving up prices.

According to experts, farmers need to increase investment in coffee bean quality, aiming to meet international standards. Closely monitoring market developments is necessary to make reasonable sales decisions, avoiding unnecessary losses.

June 2025 delivery: Up 6 cents/lb, to 383.4 cents/lb.

Arabica coffee prices continued to rise for the ninth consecutive session to a new record, as roasters tried to secure supplies while Brazilian farmers remained hesitant to sell, Reuters reported.

Coffee prices are on track for their longest winning streak since 1980, as the market continues to face persistent supply concerns in key growing regions, according to Bloomberg.

Arabica coffee futures, a favorite of companies like Starbucks Corp., rose as much as 2.4% on Tuesday, setting a record. Prices for the premium bean have risen for 10 straight days and are now trading near $4 a pound after doubling over the past year.

Supply shortages from Brazil, the world’s top arabica producer, continue to worry traders, with concerns deepening after the country posted record exports early in the season, making current availability even more limited.
