Pig prices remain stable across the country, large enterprises adjust pork prices up

The price of live pigs today, January 22, in the Central and Central Highlands regions remained stable, fluctuating between 51,000 - 56,000 VND/kg.

* The pig market in the North has no new fluctuations.

In which, the lowest transaction price in the region is 56,000 VND/kg, continuing to be present in the two provinces of Lao Cai and Nam Dinh .

Except for Hanoi, which has the highest pork price in the region at 58,000 VND/kg, other provinces and cities maintain the purchase price at 57,000 VND/kg.

Pig price today in the North is around 56,000 - 58,000 VND/kg.

* Pig prices in the Central and Central Highlands regions remain stable.

Specifically, the lowest price of live pigs in the region was recorded in Quang Ngai, Binh Dinh, Khanh Hoa and Ninh Thuan at 51,000 VND/kg.

The highest transaction price is 56,000 VND/kg, currently available in Thanh Hoa and Nghe An.

The remaining provinces maintain purchase prices in the range of 52,000 - 55,000 VND/kg.

Currently, the price of live pigs in the Central and Central Highlands regions is around 51,000 - 56,000 VND/kg.

* In the Southern region, pig prices also remained stable following the general trend.

Accordingly, traders in Dong Thap, An Giang and Bac Lieu are purchasing live pigs at the same price of 50,000 VND/kg - the lowest in the region.

Except for Dong Nai which is anchored at 54,000 VND/kg, the remaining provinces and cities have live pig prices ranging from 51,000 - 53,000 VND/kg.

Pig price in the Southern region today fluctuates between 50,000 - 54,000 VND/kg.

* According to the Dong Nai Province Livestock Association, in the first half of January 2024, on average, every night there were about 6,000 - 7,000 pigs smuggled from Cambodia into Vietnam through a number of border gates in the southeastern provinces and the southwestern border.

In the North, due to the abundant supply of pigs from the Southern provinces, the price of live pigs has stagnated in recent days.

However, large enterprises still adjust the selling price of pork to increase. Currently, the price of live pigs of Vietnam Joint Stock Company in the North is around 62,500 VND/kg, much higher than the price at the markets.

This could cause the price of live pigs at the markets to continue to increase in the coming days. Some sources predict that the price of live pigs in the North could reach 60,000 VND/kg this week.
