In the North, the price of live pigs decreased by VND1,000 in Lao Cai, Hung Yen, Nam Dinh, and Ha Nam to VND57,000 - 58,000/kg. The highest price of VND59,000/kg was recorded in some localities such as Bac Giang, Thai Nguyen, Thai Binh, Vinh Phuc, and Hanoi .
Pig price turns down (CHÍ NHAN)
In the Central and Central Highlands regions, the price decreased by VND2,000 in Thanh Hoa, to VND57,000/kg. Nghe An, Quang Nam, Khanh Hoa, and Dak Lak provinces all decreased by VND1,000, to VND58,000/kg. The highest price in the region is still Lam Dong at VND60,000/kg. On the contrary, Quang Tri continues to be the locality with the lowest pork price in the country at VND54,000/kg.
In the Southern region, a decrease of 2,000 VND was also recorded in Kien Giang, down to 58,000 VND/kg. Many localities decreased by 1,000 VND such as: Binh Phuoc, Dong Nai, Tay Ninh, Dong Thap, Hau Giang, Tra Vinh, Ben Tre. The price of live pigs in this region is commonly from 57,000 - 59,000 VND/kg. Dong Thap is the lowest at 56,000 VND/kg. The mark of 60,000 VND/kg continues to be maintained in Ba Ria-Vung Tau, Vinh Long and Bac Lieu .
The average price of pork nationwide has dropped to 58,200 VND/kg. The decrease in pork prices nationwide is attributed to low purchasing power. The price of live pigs in China has dropped to 46,500 VND/kg.
In Ho Chi Minh City market, the number of pigs arriving at wholesale markets is about 4,800/day. The price of pork loin in wholesale markets is from 76,000 - 77,000 VND/kg. The retail price of pork in markets and supermarkets is stable, specifically: pork belly is 143,000 VND/kg, young ribs are from 155,000 VND/kg, old ribs are 103,000 VND/kg, lean shoulder and thigh are about 98,000 VND/kg, boneless ham is 120,000 VND/kg.../.
