Northern region

The price of live pigs today (January 16, 2025) in the Northern region turned to decrease in provinces and cities such as Phu Tho, Thai Binh both decreased by 1,000 VND/kg and Tuyen Quang decreased by 2,000 VND/kg, respectively bringing the price to 68,000 VND and 69,000 VND/kg.

Thus, the current price of live pigs in this area is fluctuating between 68,000 - 69,000 VND/kg, no longer at 70,000 VND/kg.

Central Highlands region

Similarly, the price of live pigs today (January 16, 2025) in the Central Highlands region suddenly decreased by 1,000 VND/kg in Thanh Hoa province. Currently, the price of live pigs in the Central Highlands region is still fluctuating between 67,000 - 69,000 VND/kg.

Of which, Lam Dong province has the highest price of live pigs in the region at 69,000 VND/kg. The remaining provinces have live pig prices ranging from 67,000 - 68,000 VND/kg.

Southern region

In contrast to the above two regions, the price of live pigs in the Southern region today (16/2025) maintained a slight increase in the provinces of Long An, Vinh Long, Bac Lieu and Soc Trang, all increasing by 1,000 VND/kg.

Currently, the price of live pigs in the Southern region is fluctuating between 67,000 and 69,000 VND/kg. Of which, Ba Ria - Vung Tau, Kien Giang, Dong Nai and Tay Ninh have the highest price of live pigs in the region at 69,000 VND/kg. The remaining provinces have live pig prices ranging from 67,000 to 68,000 VND/kg.

In general, the live hog market today (January 16) continued to record mixed fluctuations in all three regions. While the North and the Central Highlands - Central regions turned to decrease slightly, the South continuously increased. Surveys show that live hogs nationwide are being traded in the range of 67,000 - 69,000 VND/kg, no longer at the mark of 70,000 VND/kg that has been maintained in the past.
