Mountain reservoir burst in Lam Dong, many people were swept away

According to initial information, the broken reservoir belonged to a livestock and poultry farming enterprise built on the mountain in Tuy Phong commune. The broken reservoir caused a large amount of water to rush down to the residential area.

Some residents said that at around 9 p.m. on November 1, they heard a loud explosion, then saw water pouring down from above onto fields and houses. Many people fled to the high road, many people went to the commune police headquarters and the commune People's Committee to avoid the flood.

The floodwaters that poured down when the lake burst swept away a family of three. Locals rescued the man, but have not yet been able to contact his wife and children.

Tuy Phong commune is arranged to include the entire natural area and population of Phan Dung commune and a part of the natural area and population of Phong Phu commune. The livestock and poultry farm with the broken reservoir is located in the old Phong Phu commune, more than 120 km from Phan Thiet. Initial information shows that this farm has a total of 3 reservoirs. Currently, 2 reservoirs have broken.

Immediately after the incident, Tuy Phong commune authorities mobilized vehicles and human resources to search for the victims. At the same time, they urgently deployed the work of evacuating people in the downstream area of the reservoir. The authorities are also investigating and clarifying the cause of the incident.
