The average price ranges from 52,000 to 55,000 VND/kg, showing a stable and sustainable trend as supply and demand are gradually being balanced.
Bac Ninh, Hung Yen and Hanoi continue to lead the region with prices of 55,000 VND/kg - the highest in the country. The provinces of Tuyen Quang, Thai Nguyen, Hai Phong, Ninh Binh and Phu Tho still maintain prices at 54,000 VND/kg.
Meanwhile, Lang Son, Quang Ninh, Son La, Lao Cai and Dien Bien traded around 53,000 VND/kg, while Lai Chau maintained the lowest level in the region at 52,000 VND/kg.
Pig price in Central Highlands
This morning, the price of live pigs in the Central Highlands continued to be stable at around 50,000 - 53,000 VND/kg, with no new adjustments recorded.
Thanh Hoa and Nghe An are leading the region, both reaching 53,000 VND/kg. Ha Tinh, Thua Thien Hue and Lam Dong provinces maintain at 52,000 VND/kg, while Quang Tri, Da Nang , Quang Ngai, Dak Lak and Khanh Hoa fluctuate around 51,000 VND/kg.
Gia Lai is still the locality with the lowest price in the region, reaching 50,000 VND/kg.
Southern pig price
In the South, Dong Nai, Tay Ninh, Dong Thap, An Giang, Ho Chi Minh City and Can Tho are maintaining the price at 52,000 VND/kg - the common level in the region. Ca Mau is currently the highest at 53,000 VND/kg, while Vinh Long is the lowest at 51,000 VND/kg.
“The price of live pigs is currently stable, the market is waiting for new signals from consumer demand at the end of the year. However, if the weather is favorable and the epidemic is controlled, the price may increase by 2-5% in the next few weeks,” said a representative of the Dong Nai Livestock Association.
According to analysis, the central and southern provinces are still affected by feed costs, logistics and disease risks, causing low profits for farmers. However, stable prices help the market avoid shocks like the first period of the year.
Agricultural experts predict that pig prices are likely to increase slightly in November as domestic demand recovers and supply decreases due to cautious herd restoration.
If disease control and animal feed management are maintained effectively, the price of live pigs may increase by 1,000 - 2,000 VND/kg, bringing the price level to 55,000 - 56,000 VND/kg by the end of the fourth quarter of 2025.
“This is an important stage for farmers to restructure, invest in technology and switch to a biosafety model, aiming for sustainable development,” Dr. Nguyen Thanh Trung emphasized.
Punishment for environmental violations in Thanh Hoa
Cong Ly Newspaper reported that after receiving complaints from local residents, the People's Committee of Sao Vang Commune established an inspection team and determined that Mr. Le Xuan Thinh, born in 1980, residing in Hamlet 15, Tho Ngoc Commune, Thanh Hoa Province, committed an administrative violation when treating wastewater from livestock farming at a pig farm in Lang Bai Hamlet, Sao Vang Commune that did not meet national standards.
At the time of inspection at Hon Mia village road, the authorities recorded that wastewater from Mr. Thinh's pig farm was overflowing, emitting an unpleasant odor. Mr. Thinh temporarily solved the problem by filling the road with soil, but this solution was not thorough.
Mr. Thinh's farm was rented from Mr. Luc Dinh Tan and Ms. Do Thi Ha in 2020 for the purpose of raising sows and pigs for meat. Currently, the farm is raising 250 sows and 160 piglets.
Dry pig manure is treated with lime powder, bagged and transported by specialized covered vehicles to supply to people growing plants. Wastewater is led through 110mm PVC pipes into a 5-compartment concrete tank with a capacity of 150 m³ and a biogas tarpaulin tank with a capacity of 4,600 m³.
Due to the impact of storm No. 5 with heavy rain lasting from August 25 to 28, water from the hill overflowed onto the village road (there was no drainage ditch), causing the farm to be flooded, causing pig farming wastewater to overflow into the environment, causing a strong stench.
Mr. Thinh's family has rebuilt the fence around the farm and filled it with soil to temporarily fix the problem of wastewater overflowing onto the street, but it has not been completely resolved.
In the coming time, Mr. Le Xuan Thinh pledged to continue dumping soil, crushed stone and making drainage ditches to improve the low-lying village road, ensuring travel for people and completely ending pollution caused by wastewater.
Mr. Ha Cong Nghia, Secretary of Lang Bai Village Party Cell, confirmed that the people's complaints about environmental pollution caused by wastewater from Mr. Thinh's pig farm were true. The households requested the government to quickly intervene and force the farmers to comply with environmental protection laws.
Based on the level of violation, the Chairman of Sao Vang Commune People's Committee decided to administratively fine Mr. Le Xuan Thinh 6 million VND, and at the same time requested to completely fix the situation of livestock wastewater overflowing into the environment.
