The detailed prices are: May 2025 term reached 475.85 USD/ton; July 2025 was 471.20 USD/ton; September 2025 recorded 453.85 USD/ton and December 2025 reached 437.90 USD/ton.

Domestic market records coffee price increase

At 5:00 a.m. today, May 21, 2025, coffee prices in the Central Highlands region rebounded sharply with an increase of 2,000 - 2,200 VND/kg compared to the previous session, showing a recovery trend after a series of consecutive days of decline. Currently, the average coffee purchase price in key provinces has reached 126,500 VND/kg.

In each locality, today's coffee price in Dak Lak is at 126,500 VND/kg, while in Lam Dong it is 126,000 VND/kg, Gia Lai is at 126,500 VND/kg and Dak Nong recorded the highest price of 126,700 VND/kg.

Recent coffee price movements have shown many unusual changes. Previously, coffee prices in Vietnam often decreased during the harvest period from November to April and recovered around May to October due to reduced supply. However, this year, prices increased sharply right at the harvest time and began to show signs of decreasing from the end of April 2025.

Although prices are trending down, the amount of coffee left in people's hands is insignificant. In the first 4 months of 2025, Vietnam's coffee exports earned 3.8 billion USD.

If this momentum is maintained, the Vietnamese coffee industry may reach the export milestone of 7 billion USD for the first time this year, thereby continuing to maintain its position as the world leader in Robusta coffee exports.

Pepper maintains stable state

Updated at 5:00 a.m. on May 21, 2025, the domestic pepper market continues to remain stable at a high level, without much fluctuation compared to the previous session. The average pepper purchase price in key provinces is currently at 151,600 VND/kg.

Specifically, in Gia Lai , pepper prices today remain stable as yesterday, currently being purchased at 150,000 VND/kg.

In Ba Ria - Vung Tau and Binh Phuoc areas, pepper prices did not fluctuate much, with traders purchasing at the same price of 151,000 VND/kg as yesterday.

In Dak Lak and Dak Nong provinces, pepper prices continued to be stable as in the previous slight increase, currently being purchased at 153,000 VND/kg in each locality.

International pepper prices are mixed.

Data from the International Pepper Community (IPC) at 5:00 a.m. on May 21, 2025 showed that the world pepper market was clearly differentiated. In particular, pepper prices in Indonesia continued to increase by 22 - 30 USD/ton, while pepper prices in Brazil, after a period of stability, suddenly dropped sharply to 150 USD/ton.

Specifically, IPC announced that the price of Indonesian Lampung black pepper is currently at 7,301 USD/ton; the price of Muntok white pepper is also purchased at 10,051 USD/ton.

In the Malaysian market, pepper prices remained stable, with ASTA black pepper sold at $9,200/ton and ASTA white pepper at $11,900/ton.

The Brazilian pepper market was little changed compared to the previous session, with the current price at 6,800 USD/ton.

Vietnam's pepper export prices continued to be stable and sideways, with black pepper 500 g/l priced at 6,700 USD/ton; 550 g/l traded at 6,800 USD/ton and white pepper at 9,700 USD/ton.

Risk of deep decline as pepper prices fall from peak

After peaking at VND160,000/kg, pepper prices have now dropped to VND150,000/kg. According to experts, if this threshold is broken, the market may face a deeper decline. The main reason comes from the financial pressure that both exporting and importing enterprises are facing, especially evident in the second quarter and the following months.

However, the key factor of global supply and demand is still the driving force to keep pepper prices from falling too sharply. The world's pepper supply is still not enough to meet market demand, which helps support prices in the medium and long term.
