Domestic pepper prices updated on the morning of May 12, 2025 |
Statistics show that the domestic pepper market this week decreased by 3,000 - 5,000 VND/kg compared to last week. Meanwhile, the global pepper market this week tends to decrease; in which, pepper prices in Indonesia and black pepper in Brazil both decreased, while other countries were stable and flat.
According to experts, the global pepper market is currently experiencing mixed fluctuations, continuously increasing and decreasing through trading sessions. Accordingly, while some markets record stable prices, other markets are witnessing declines due to the impact of weather factors and consumption demand. This directly affects the psychology of domestic investors and traders, making them more cautious in purchasing and storing goods.
In addition, increased transportation and logistics costs are also one of the reasons for the downward pressure on domestic pepper prices. Export businesses are facing high transportation costs, affecting profits and competitiveness in the international market.
Farmers in Dak Nong province harvest pepper |
Some experts say that although pepper prices are on a downward trend, demand in the international market remains stable. This could help domestic pepper prices remain at a reasonable level in the coming time. In particular, if businesses and farmers are proactive in adjusting their production and business plans, they can take advantage of market opportunities to optimize profits.
In the context of many market fluctuations, experts recommend that pepper growers should closely monitor price developments and market information to make reasonable sales decisions. Applying post-harvest preservation and processing measures will also help improve product quality, thereby increasing value and competitiveness in the market.
