Gold prices continue to fall sharply

This morning (April 29), domestic gold prices continued to drop sharply to 119.5 million VND/tael of SJC gold bars and 118.5 million VND/tael of gold rings.

Saigon Jewelry Company listed the price of SJC gold bars at 117.5 - 119.5 million VND/tael for buying and selling, down 1 million VND/tael compared to yesterday morning. The difference between buying and selling is 2 million VND/tael.

Other gold trading companies simultaneously reduced the price of SJC gold bars to 119.5 million VND/tael. The price of SJC gold bars decreased by nearly 5 million VND/tael from the peak in the middle of last week.

The price of gold rings also decreased along with gold bars. Specifically, Bao Tin Minh Chau Company Limited listed the price of gold rings at 115.7 - 118.5 million VND/tael, down 300,000 VND/tael for buying and 500,000 VND/tael for selling compared to yesterday morning. The difference between buying and selling is 2.8 million VND/tael.

Phu Quy Gold and Gemstone Group listed the price of gold rings at 114 - 117 million VND/tael. The difference between buying and selling is 3 million VND/tael.

At the same time, the world gold price was listed at 3,336 USD/ounce, an increase of 62 USD/ounce compared to yesterday morning.

In the currency market, the State Bank listed the central exchange rate at 24,960 VND/USD, up 12 VND compared to yesterday morning.

The USD price at banks tends to decrease. Specifically, at Vietcombank , the USD price is listed at 25,780 - 26,170 VND/USD for buying and selling, down 30 VND compared to yesterday morning. At Vietinbank, the USD price is around 25,660 - 26,170 VND/USD.

The USD price on the black market is trading at 26,300 - 26,400 VND/USD.

The exchange rate remains at a historic high amid the lack of a final outcome on the US's tariff decisions against Vietnam.
