FPT Play will broadcast the English Premier League from 2026. |
On December 8th, FPT Play, a subsidiary of FPT Telecom, announced that it had acquired the broadcasting rights for the English Premier League for 5.5 seasons. This means the company is replacing K+ to broadcast the world's most exciting football league in Vietnam. Following this, the company has gradually launched various subscription packages and payment options.
Users who already own FPT network infrastructure or are subscribing to a new FPT network plan can add a K+ viewing package as a bundled combo at a lower cost than usual. Specifically, according to the network provider, customers only need to pay an additional 59,000 VND to watch the EPL. This figure is significantly lower than the K+ package previously sold on FPT Play or purchasing the satellite service separately.
However, the actual 59,000 VND difference is calculated based on the previous FPT Play combo price. According to Tri Thức - Znews , the additional cost can be higher depending on the package. For example, the Sky sports combo with EPL is about 69,000 VND/month more expensive than the version without Premier League coverage. Compared to a regular internet package without FPT Play, the difference increases to 110,000 VND/month.
This price is still cheaper than the 179,000 VND/month that K+ previously offered in Vietnam.
| Package | Sky | Meta | Sky F1 | Meta F1 |
| Internet | 190,000 VND | 210,000 VND | 305,000 VND | |
| Internet + FPT Play | 230,000 VND | 315,000 VND | 245,000 VND | 325,000 VND |
| Internet + FPT Play + EPL | 299,000 VND | 399,000 VND | 319,000 VND | 419,000 VND |
For customers not using FPT network, this provider still offers the option to watch via FPT Play multi-platform. The package costs 120,000 VND/month, limited to one device, and 150,000 VND/month, allowing simultaneous viewing on two devices. In addition to the English Premier League, customers can also watch other sports leagues owned by the provider, including V.League and FA Cup, as well as Vietnamese movies shown in theaters (Galaxy).
However, the fragmentation of the league remains unresolved in Vietnam. Content rights have become a weapon for broadcasters to attract subscribers. For football fans, no single broadcaster offers coverage of the entire league. TV360 (owned by Viettel Telecom) holds the Bundesliga rights, while VTVcab holds the Champions League rights, and SCTV has exclusive rights to La Liga.
