The 2025 Ho Chi Minh City Student Futsal Tournament officially kicked off at the Ho Chi Minh City University of Agriculture and Forestry Gymnasium, opening a week of exciting competition between 12 teams representing major universities in the city.
This is the third season of the tournament organized regionally, after two successful seasons in the Central Highlands (2023) and Hanoi (2024). The tournament is organized by the Voice of Vietnam (VOV) in collaboration with the Ho Chi Minh City University and Professional Sports Association , aiming to develop the school futsal movement and create a healthy playground for students.

The tournament has 4 groups, taking place in a round-robin format, selecting 8 teams to enter the quarter-finals. VOV Deputy General Director Vu Hai Quang said the tournament is not only a sporting activity but also spreads the youthful and creative spirit of Vietnamese students.
VFF Vice President Tran Anh Tu assessed that the student futsal movement will contribute to supplementing young resources for futsal in the country in the future.
Mr. Tu shared: "We have had a very stable student futsal movement and I believe that there will certainly be more universities participating in the coming time. This is the basis to help Vietnamese futsal clubs have many sources to recruit players.

In the opening match of the tournament, Ho Chi Minh City University of Agriculture and Forestry (red) won the opening match.
Right after the opening ceremony, the home team Ho Chi Minh City University of Agriculture and Forestry won Ho Chi Minh City University of Foreign Languages and Information Technology 2-1.
The matches of the tournament will be broadcast live on VOV Live and VOV Futsal systems.
