Golf tournament held in Tay Ninh arbitrarily named many press agencies as media sponsors

(NLDO) - The Golf Tournament "For Children to Go to School" did not ask for permission from the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Tay Ninh province.

On September 6, social networks shared an invitation to the "For Children to Go to School" Golf Tournament held the same morning at West Lakes Golf & Villas in Hau Nghia commune, Tay Ninh province.

Below the invitation is the bank account number and the transfer note is "Support the charity golf tournament "for children to go to school".

Invitation to the competition and a board printed with the logos of 12 press agencies

In particular, the invitation letter is accompanied by a picture of a board printed with the words "Companion sponsor" and "Media sponsor". In the "Media sponsor" section, the logos of 12 press agencies appear, including: Tuoi Tre, VnExpress, Tay Ninh Newspaper, Tay Ninh Television, Dan Tri, VOV, Nguoi Lao Dong, Phap Luat TP HCM, Nhan Dan, TTXVN, Saigon Giai Phong, Tien Phong.

Many press agencies were surprised when their logo suddenly appeared at this golf tournament. At noon the same day, talking to Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Dang Huu Tai, in charge of communications for the Golf Tournament "For Children to Go to School", confirmed that he had left out the wrong information.

"The other day I sent a letter to Mr. TNL at a newspaper to invite reporters to come down and report. L. sent down a list of 12 reporters, but the printing process made a mistake, instead of just writing "news reporting unit", it said "Media sponsoring unit". I will have it posted to remove those logos" - Mr. Tai explained.

When asked whether the organizing committee had asked for permission from the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Tay Ninh province to organize such a sports tournament, Mr. Tai said: "This tournament is to support gifts for children entering school, so we coordinated with the People's Committee of Hau Nghia commune to organize it, without asking for permission from the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Tay Ninh province. It's a small tournament."

Talking about the organizing unit, Mr. Tai said: "Individual only, which unit?".
