5TH CENTRAL - CENTRAL HIGHLANDS VOVINAM CHAMPIONSHIP 2025: Phu Yen won 3rd place overall

The Sports Training and Competition Center has just announced that the Phu Yen Vovinam team competed impressively at the 5th Central Highlands Vovinam Championship in 2025 held in Pleiku City (Gia Lai), specifically winning 3rd place overall with 10 gold medals, 13 silver medals, and 10 bronze medals. The Vovinam team participating in this tournament with about 30 athletes is a member of the Phu Yen Vovinam Association and the Sports Training and Competition Center. The tournament's funding is 100% socialized by the Phu Yen Vovinam Association.

According to Mr. Nguyen Hong Thanh, Vice President of the Provincial Vovinam Association, the team started training on April 20. The achievements in Gia Lai reflect the efforts of the athletes and coaching staff. This is the basis for the Phu Yen Vovinam team to continue to aim for higher goals in the future.

The 5th Central Highlands Vovinam Championship in 2025 attracts 8 provinces in the region to compete: Phu Yen, Thanh Hoa, Khanh Hoa, Lam Dong , Quang Binh, Nghe An, Ninh Thuan, Hue and host Gia Lai. This is a playground to promote the regional Vovinam movement to develop more and more, bringing exchange and competition for athletes, accumulating experience for athletes to compete in many major tournaments.

In 2023, the Vovinam team ranked 3rd in this tournament. In 2024, when Phu Yen was the home field, coach Tran Thanh Phong and his team ranked 2nd overall. These are encouraging achievements for Vovinam Phu Yen.
