Lieutenant General, Professor, Doctor Le Huu Song, originally from Ha Tinh province, graduated from the Military Medical Academy in 1994 and was one of the three most outstanding individuals selected to work at the Central Military Hospital 108.
During the period of 2000-2001, he received a scholarship from the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) to pursue postgraduate studies in Germany and successfully defended his doctoral thesis in Molecular Biology at Eberhard Karls University, Germany in 2004.
In 2013, he was awarded the title of Associate Professor. In December 2023, he was appointed Professor at the University of Tuebingen, Germany.

During his career, he held many important positions such as: Head of the Department of Molecular Biology; Director of the Institute of Clinical Infectious Diseases - Central Military Hospital 108; Head of the Department of Infectious Diseases and Tropical Diseases, Institute of Clinical Medical Research 108.
In October 2014, the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense appointed Dr. Le Huu Song as Deputy Director of the General Planning Department of the Central Military Hospital 108; in October 2023, he was entrusted with the responsibility of Director of the Central Military Hospital 108.
Currently, he is also the Vice Chairman of the Central Council for the Protection and Care of Cadre Health; and a member of the Military Medical Science Council - Ministry of National Defense.
With outstanding professional competence and a solid research foundation, Lieutenant General, Professor, and Doctor Le Huu Song has achieved many remarkable accomplishments and prestigious awards: Ho Chi Minh Prize for Science and Technology (2017); WIPO Prize from the World Intellectual Property Organization (2018); First Prize at Vifotec (2018); Alexander Yersin Prize from the Vietnam-Switzerland Medical Association (2018, 2020); Third-Class Labor Medal (2024); Certificate of Merit from the Prime Minister (2018, 2019, 2021, 2025); National Emulation Soldier (2024); Emulation Soldier of the Ministry of National Defense (2019, 2022); along with many Certificates of Merit from the Prime Minister and the Ministry of National Defense...
He has chaired 3 state-level research projects that achieved excellent results, numerous international cooperation projects, and ministerial-level projects; and holds 10 exclusive patents with high application value in the field of molecular biology.
In addition, he is the author of 6 monographs, has numerous scientific works published in prestigious domestic and international journals; and has supervised many doctoral students, master's students, and specialist doctors. He is the Chairman of the Scientific Council for Applied Research in the field of Medicine and Pharmacy - National Science and Technology Development Fund.
As Director, Lieutenant General Professor, Doctor Le Huu Song led the Central Military Hospital 108 to achieve breakthroughs in professional expertise, advanced technology, international cooperation, and digital transformation.
Under his leadership, the hospital has affirmed its position as one of the leading medical centers in the country, the number one liver transplant center in Southeast Asia, and has achieved regional and world-class standards in many areas.
The promotion of Professor, Doctor Le Huu Song to Lieutenant General is a well-deserved recognition by the Party, State, and Army of his immense and enduring contributions to the cause of caring for and protecting the health of soldiers and the people.
This is a great honor and a motivation for all officers, staff, and soldiers of the hospital to continue to unite and strive to build the Central Military Hospital 108 into a "Happy, Academic, Dedicated, Intelligent, and Trustworthy" medical center, the number one medical center in Vietnam by 2035.
