Quality management activities, including internal quality assurance (IQA) and accreditation, have been implemented at both the institutional and program levels.

The Higher Education Law of 2012 and its amendments in 2018 established and reaffirmed the important role of quality assurance and accreditation as a tool to support university governance, promote autonomy, and enhance accountability.

According to Professor, Dr. Huynh Van Chuong, since 2016-2017, when Vietnamese higher education institutions began implementing the AUN-QA assessment standards at the institutional level (version 2.0) and program level (version 3.0), Vietnam has achieved significant progress in regional and international integration.

As of July this year, Vietnam has 213 accredited higher education institutions and 2,609 accredited training programs, including those accredited according to domestic standards and those of foreign or international accreditation organizations.

Also at the conference, Professor, Dr. Su Dinh Thanh, Director of the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City, stated that for UEH, quality assurance is not only a requirement, but also a core value and driving force for development.

UEH has strived to achieve national and international accreditation standards, participated in AUN-QA assessments, and collaborated with many prestigious universities globally. These efforts have enhanced UEH's position in the ASEAN region and on the international education map.
