Nguyen Nhu Xuan is always proud of the two words Vietnam.

Nguyen Nhu Xuan - Marianapolis Preparatory School (USA): Representing the country in other countries

I read and was interested in the parade and march to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South from afar and was very proud.

In my opinion, every generation tries very hard for the country. With our ancestors fighting for the country’s independence and keeping peace and unity, the next generations like us will try our best to preserve what our ancestors have built. To keep the country unified, always peaceful and independent.

Currently, when Vietnam is gradually asserting its position in the international arena, our responsibility - especially international students - is to become worthy representatives of the Fatherland in countries around the world. It is a sacred mission, contributing to building a proud young generation, bringing knowledge back to serve the homeland, enriching the country, and at the same time introducing to friends around the world a dynamic, brave Vietnam ready to stand shoulder to shoulder with the world 's great powers.

Duc Vinh and his study of the history of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South

Duc Vinh, 5th year medical student, Hanoi Medical University: Continuing the story of patriotism with pride

I was born in a peaceful era, without witnessing bombs or division, but I am always deeply aware that today's peaceful life is the result of countless sacrifices and losses of our ancestors. I feel very proud and grateful to the previous generation - those who bravely fought for the independence and freedom of the nation. Today's peace is a precious legacy that we inherit. I believe that the story of peace will not stop there.

Tomorrow, we – the young generation – will continue to write that story with pride, talent, responsibility, and enduring love for our country. For me, that starts with studying seriously, training myself, and living responsibly to become a good citizen, contributing to building a country that is increasingly developed, sustainable, and happy.

April 30th, to me, is not only a historical milestone, but also a sacred day, filled with pride and gratitude. Every time I mention this day, my heart tightens and chokes when I think of the soldiers who sacrificed their youth and lives so that the country can have today. They fought selflessly, so that the country could be independent and free. Today's peaceful life was exchanged for blood and tears, the incomparable pain of countless Vietnamese mothers. The fire and smoke have passed, and now, dawn has come. The dawn of a new era is so beautiful.

On April 30, 1975, when the last gunshots fell silent, it was not only a military victory, but also a victory of resilience, of the unyielding will of every Vietnamese person. They held guns so that we could hold pens. They overcame many hardships and shed blood so that we could live in a peaceful and free country.

Following on social media, I witnessed the images taking place in Ho Chi Minh City. The strong footsteps, the brave rows of soldiers, they not only represent the strength of the army but also the indomitable spirit of the nation. I witnessed a stream of people singing together the song for Peace, I wondered: Is peace the two most beautiful but also the most meaningful and sacred words? I wondered, will the "peace story" continue to be written by us?

April 30th is not only to remember a victory, but also to remember each fallen soldier. And I appreciate more than ever what the previous generation has done for us? Grateful and proud are my feelings these days.
