The final ranking and awards ceremony of the "Hanoi Singing Contest 2025," organized by Hanoi Radio and Television at the Ho Guom Theater on December 9th, concluded an emotional season and marked the strong return of the capital's most prestigious music competition. The event attracted a large live audience and millions of views on television and the station's digital platforms.
The competition, launched in November, attracted over 900 applicants. Through preliminary and semi-final rounds, 15 outstanding vocalists from three genres – folk, classical, and pop – advanced to the final competition, which included three nights of group performances by genre and one night of ranking and awards ceremony.

After two preliminary and semi-final rounds, 33 outstanding contestants advanced to the final round. The contestants came from various art training institutions, universities, music centers, and singing communities in Hanoi and several other provinces and cities, as well as international contestants, competing in three styles: classical, folk, and pop music.
In the final ranking night, with the two songs "Dakrong River in Spring" and "People of Hanoi," Dao Le Phuong Chi - a second-year student of the Vietnam National Academy of Music, born in 2003 and also a student of the first-generation Sao Mai singer Phuong Nga - excellently won the championship.
The 15 most outstanding contestants were selected to advance to the final ranking night with colorful performances, presenting a rich and emotional musical tapestry where viewers could experience a range of emotions through each artistic personality.
The grand finale was meticulously planned in terms of stage design, lighting, and sound, creating a professional performance setting that celebrated the vocal talent and personality of each contestant – a large-scale show that fostered the creativity of young artists and contributed to spreading musical values to the public. The competition was broadcast live on FM96 radio and streamed in high-definition 4K on Channel 2 and the station's digital platforms.
The 15 finalists in the final round created distinct colors for each contestant. Despite moments of disappointment during their performances, all contestants showed positive signs: increasingly solid technique, mature musical thinking, a genuine love for singing, and above all, a love for Hanoi and its musical life. These values affirmed the goal that "Hanoi Voice" pursues – a professional, humane platform for discovering and nurturing promising voices.

Dao Le Phuong Chi's performance, encompassing emotion, technique, and stage presence, convinced the judges and audience, and affirmed her status as a standout contestant of the season. Along with the championship title, Phuong Chi also received a prize of 600 million VND, including a Vinfast VF5 car and cash.

The first prize in the "Hanoi Singing Contest 2025" was awarded to two contestants in the classical and light music categories: Nguyen Phuong Anh and Nguyen Thuy Hai Anh (each receiving 100 million VND). In 2025, "Hanoi Voice" continues to affirm its position as a long-standing Vietnamese music competition aimed at discovering young talents. The competition remains steadfast in its core values: using vocal performance as the highest measure, honoring powerful voices and technical skill.
This year's competition marks a significant step forward, expanding in scale and structure with a focus on the participation of international contestants. This is a testament to Hanoi's image as an open, welcoming city, becoming a hub for international cultural exchange, as evidenced by its UNESCO Creative City title.
In addition, this year's competition has been redesigned with many highly professional challenges such as impromptu singing, interaction with the judges, and a short-time stage presence challenge… helping to comprehensively assess the contestants' situational handling skills, flexibility, and performance confidence.
The final round was also expanded to three nights of competition for three musical genres: classical, folk, and pop. "Hanoi Voice 2025" has transcended the boundaries of a simple music competition to become a prestigious "launching pad," nurturing young, professional, and promising vocal talents. Many singers who participated in and won the competition have become successful artists, building serious musical careers and continuing to contribute – a testament to the competition's widespread influence and lasting impact.
More than just a talent discovery platform, "Hanoi Voice" plays a crucial role in shaping popular music aesthetics. The competition encourages diversity in musical genres – from classical and folk to modern pop music – and emphasizes artistic value and creativity.
Through this, audiences in the capital and more broadly throughout the country can enjoy professional and refined singing voices – which contributes to raising the public's listening and viewing taste, while preserving and spreading the values of Vietnamese music.

Innovations in organizational methods and an international vision have clearly demonstrated the pioneering role of Hanoi Radio and Television in building the cultural industry: honoring traditional art and identity while encouraging creativity, integration, and sustainable artistic development as a place to nurture young, enthusiastic, high-quality, and ambitious singers.
The "Hanoi Singing Contest 2025" boasts the largest professional judging panel ever, with 36 judges and advisors rotating through each round. The judging panel comprises People's Artists, Meritorious Artists, composers, and leading vocal instructors. These are all prestigious names in the fields of performance, composition, and art education. With their extensive experience and in-depth professional perspectives, the judging panel comprehensively evaluated contestants based on multiple criteria: technique, vocal timbre, creativity, expressive ability, and stage presence.
During the final ranking and awards ceremony, the organizers of "Hanoi Singing Contest 2025" donated 100 million VND to the Charity Account of Hanoi Radio and Television Station to spread the spirit of mutual support, care, and sharing with compatriots who have suffered much pain and loss due to natural disasters, promoting the fine traditions of the Vietnamese people.
