The leading blockchain and digital asset, investment technology event in Asia - GM Vietnam 2025 took place in the context of the Government's determination to create a legal corridor. The event was organized by SSI Digital and Kyros Ventures, under the auspices of the National Cyber Security Association.

More than 20,000 people, from billion-dollar business leaders to young entrepreneurs, international investment funds, and policy makers, were present.

Greetings from a "waking up" Vietnam

“But this is not just a conference,” emphasized Mr. Nguyen Duy Hung, Chairman of the Board of Directors of SSI Securities Corporation. This is where everyone comes together to say a familiar greeting: “Good Morning – Vietnam!”

According to Mr. Hung, GM is the way the global technology community greets each other every day. But today, that greeting has a greater meaning. It is a greeting from a Vietnam that is “awakening” strongly in the technology era.

Skillfully connecting the aspirations of the current digital age with the historical milestones of the nation, Mr. Hung recalled the Doi Moi decision in 1986, a turning point that gave birth to the Enterprise Law, formed the stock market and created a class of pioneering entrepreneurs who made economic miracles. That generation brought Vietnam from difficulties, integration and raised the national status.

Today, Vietnam is facing a new mission, a historic opportunity to enter an era of comprehensive development and deep integration as directed by General Secretary To Lam . From there, a new generation of entrepreneurs is being formed.

“They are younger – more confident – more technological – more global,” Mr. Hung described.

Emphasizing this, Mr. Hung said that today they may still be very young. They are not millionaires or billionaires, they are even living in their parents' house or starting a business in an old car, writing code all night in a 24/7 coffee shop. But they will be the citizens of the new era, will be the economic pillars of Vietnam in the next 10 - 20 years.

“This is also the reason why SSI, through SSI Digital and Kyros Ventures, organized GM Vietnam 2025, to gather people who believe in Vietnam's potential and are ready to join the country in entering the digital age,” said Mr. Hung.

Looking at the scale of the event with more than 20,000 attendees, hundreds of investment funds, technology corporations and the world's leading founders - Mr. Hung affirmed that everyone is looking towards Vietnam, not only as an emerging market but also as a country that is reaching out to lead.

Creating a legal corridor for the digital economy

The vision of a leading Vietnam is not a “dream” but is reinforced by decisive actions from the Government. Mr. Pham Tien Dung, Deputy Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam, Vice President of the National Cyber Security Association, provided important information, affirming the determination to create a legal corridor for the digital economy.

Talking about the development strategy of blockchain, Mr. Dung shared that Vietnam has just gone through 3 related events. First, the National Assembly passed a resolution on the new generation financial center, which includes content on innovation and specialized exchanges, especially digital asset exchanges.

“Vietnam defines digital assets as both secured and unsecured. This model has been surveyed in emerging financial centers and is expected to attract entrepreneurs, businesses and investors,” said Mr. Dung.

Second, the Ministry of Finance is submitting to the Government a pilot digital asset trading floor whose core technology is blockchain. Third, Vietnam has passed the Law on Digital Technology Industry, one of the few countries in the world that clearly defines digital assets, virtual assets and related issues, paving the legal way for the development of other regulations.

From the perspective of the State Bank, the Deputy Governor also emphasized the role of technology, especially the contribution of technology “unicorns” that have helped the banking industry make great strides with the rate of transactions on digital channels in many banks reaching up to 90%. In addition, he also mentioned Decree 94 on the controlled testing mechanism (sandbox) in the banking industry. This is an important tool for technology enterprises to test and develop new products and services.

As Vice President of the National Cyber Security Association, Mr. Pham Tien Dung also emphasized the importance of cyber security as a basic requirement.

“A country cannot succeed and sustainably deploy digital technology without the ability to protect data, protect users and protect digital sovereignty,” said Mr. Dung.

GM Vietnam 2025 will take place over two days, August 1-2, with the participation of more than 200 leading speakers from around the world and more than 1,000 founders, investment funds and developers.

Sharing about the significance of the event, Mr. Thuat Nguyen - Founder and CEO of Kyros Ventures said that the overall goal of GM Vietnam is still to create a forum for projects and companies in the blockchain industry in Vietnam to meet, exchange and demonstrate their capabilities with international friends... bringing opportunities for cooperation and exchange of ideas.

Meanwhile, Mr. Mai Huy Tuan - General Director of SSI Digital expects the event to be an important catalyst for the financial, technology and business communities to see a common prospect. Digital assets are no longer a distant concept, but are gradually becoming a practical tool, serving the long-term growth and development goals of the Vietnamese capital market./.
