Comments on the draft documents of the 14th National Party Congress: Clearly demonstrating the great appeal

In the conferences discussing and contributing opinions to the Draft Documents to be submitted to the 14th National Party Congress, most cadres, union members and workers in the capital expressed their agreement and high consensus.

On October 28, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor held a conference to collect comments from officials, union members, and workers on the Draft Documents to be submitted to the 14th National Congress of the Party.

Attending the Conference were Mr. Nguyen Thai Hoc, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Fatherland Front and Central organizations; Dr. Bui Van Thach - Vice Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council, Deputy Head of the Editorial Team of the 14th National Party Congress Documents..., along with experts, union officials, union members, and workers from provinces and cities in the Northern region.

Speaking at the Conference, Mr. Ngo Duy Hieu, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, emphasized that this is an important event, a political forum to promote intelligence; demonstrate the responsibility of cadres, union members and workers for Party building work.

Mr. Ngo Duy Hieu commented that all opinions highly appreciated the content of the Draft Document, clearly demonstrating its great appeal. The Conference hopes to receive many contributions from production practices, including issues directly related to workers and the role of the working class, thereby clearly demonstrating the representative role of the Vietnam Trade Union organization for union members and workers.

Associate Professor, Doctor Bui Dinh Bon - former Secretary of the Central Theoretical Council said: "In the Draft Documents to be submitted to the 14th National Party Congress (documents used at the Party Congresses at the commune, provincial and equivalent levels), the issue of 'Maintaining and strengthening the working class nature of the Party' has not been adequately mentioned. I respectfully propose that the Party Central Committee add this content to the Draft Documents to be submitted to the 14th National Congress of Delegates."

According to him, the working class nature of the Communist Party is a fundamental, all-encompassing and pervasive issue that governs all activities of genuine Marxist parties - from Party building in terms of politics, ideology, organization, ethics, leadership methods, working style to all revolutionary leadership activities.

He affirmed that since its inception, our Party has always considered maintaining and strengthening the nature of the working class a vital requirement, contributing to the strength, prestige and revolutionary leadership role of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

Giving comments on the content of "New thinking on sustainable social development management; ensuring progress, social justice, and caring for people's lives" in the Draft Document of the 14th National Party Congress, Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh - Vice President of the Vietnam Coal and Mineral Trade Union - commented: "The document has concretized the Party's vision on modern social development management, towards a society in which all people have access to and enjoy basic, essential, and quality social services; at the same time, encouraging innovative models in sustainable community development management."

Representing more than 95,000 workers, including more than 80,000 working in the coal production sector and about 30,000 workers directly working in the mines, Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh proposed to emphasize more clearly the role of the working class and the Trade Union organization in modern social governance.

"The trade union is not only an organization that cares for and protects the rights of workers, but also a companion of the State and enterprises in building policies for fair social development," she emphasized.

According to Vice President of the Hanoi City Labor Federation Nguyen Huy Khanh, in the conferences discussing and contributing opinions to the Draft Documents to be submitted to the 14th National Party Congress, most cadres, union members and workers in the capital expressed their agreement and high consensus.

Comments assessed that the Draft Document fully and deeply mentioned important issues of the Party and the country; at the same time, acknowledged the elaborate, methodical, highly practical preparation process, demonstrating the great intellectual investment of the Central Committee.

The draft also looks straight at the truth, pointing out the limitations and shortcomings in social life, in the organization and operation of the Party and State, demonstrating the spirit of frankness, openness and innovation./.
