Hanoi: 10 high schools lower admission scores for grade 10

The Hanoi Department of Education and Training has just announced that 10 schools are allowed to lower their admission scores and 2 newly established schools are assigned quotas to recruit additional students for grade 10 in the 2025-2026 school year.

The Director of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training has just issued a decision approving the second round of benchmark scores for additional recruitment into grade 10 of specialized and non-specialized public high schools in the city.

Accordingly, 10 schools that have not yet recruited enough students were assigned to lower their admission scores to recruit more students, all of which are suburban schools.

According to regulations, when lowering the admission score (additional recruitment), high schools must publicly post the number of students recruited, the number of students lacking compared to the target, the new admission score and the deadline for receiving admission applications according to regulations.

Schools that are short of quotas are allowed to accept students with second and third preferences who meet the admission requirements. Students admitted to second preference must have an admission score at least 1.0 point higher than the school's standard score; students admitted to third preference must have an admission score at least 2.0 points higher than the school's standard score.

Students who have passed their first choice will not be considered for their second and third choices; students who have failed their first choice will be considered for their second choice; students who have failed their first and second choices will be considered for their third choice.

Additional admitted candidates will enroll directly from 19 to 22.

For newly established public high schools including Do Muoi High School and Phuc Thinh High School, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training has added enrollment quotas and regulations as follows:

For the above two schools, admitted students submit their admission applications from 8:00 a.m. on July 28 to 5:00 p.m. on July 30.

The Hanoi Department of Education and Training noted that students must meet the admission requirements according to regulations but do not pass the registered wishes to be able to register for admission to one of the four high schools: Minh Quang, Phuc Loi, Phuc Thinh, Do Muoi.

The system allows students to change their admission application before 24 hours on July 22.
