Hanoi opens series of special tourism events 2024

The program is part of a series of activities to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Liberation Day of the Capital (October 10, 1954 - October 10, 2024). This is also an opportunity for the Capital's tourism industry to continue to communicate and promote the image of Hanoi as a "Safe - Friendly - Quality - Attractive" destination to attract more and more tourists to Hanoi in general and Tay Ho in particular. Thereby, contributing to the development of tourism in the Capital in particular, Vietnam in general and making a positive contribution to the socio -economic development of the country.

Speaking at the program, Director of Hanoi Department of Tourism Dang Huong Giang said: In order to inherit the positive results achieved in the recent past, in 2024, the capital's tourism will focus on promoting cultural values ​​and heritages associated with tourism, building the image of Hanoi as "Cultured - Civilized - Modern", "City for Peace"; "Creative City"; forming unique and attractive tourism products based on existing advantages that are the crystallization and convergence of cultural, historical and human resource values ​​of Hanoi. At the same time, focus on investing in developing new types of products associated with the advantages of each locality such as exploiting inland waterway tourism routes along the Red River, West Lake, Dong Mo Lake; developing agricultural and rural tourism products, sports tourism, etc.

Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Manh Quyen awarded the recognition of city-level tourist area to Nhat Tan Tourist Area (Nhat Tan ward).

According to Ms. Dang Huong Giang, the capital's tourism industry strives to attract over 27 million visitors in 2024, an increase of 9.22% compared to 2023, including 5.5 million international tourists and 21.5 million domestic tourists. Total revenue from tourists reached 109.41 trillion VND, an increase of 17.12% compared to 2023. In addition, in the coming time, with the motto of Vietnam Tourism stated in Directive 08-CT/TTg dated February 23, 2024 of the Prime Minister as "Close connection - Harmonious coordination - Extensive cooperation - Comprehensive coverage - Sustainable efficiency", the capital's tourism industry will strive to become a popular destination for domestic and international tourists.

The program "Hanoi Tourism Welcomes 2024 - Get on Hanoi 2024" is the opening activity for more than 50 series of cultural, festival and tourism activities in 2024 of Hanoi such as: Hanoi Tourism Festival 2024; Hanoi Tourism Gift Festival 2024; Hanoi Autumn Festival; Food and Craft Village Tourism Festival; Hanoi Ao Dai Festival 2024....

Within the framework of the program, there was also a ceremony to announce Decision No. 5642/QD-UBND of the Hanoi People's Committee on recognizing Nhat Tan Tourist Area, Tay Ho District, Hanoi as a City-level tourist area.

The highlight of the show is the light show with 300 drones.

According to Ms. Dang Huong Giang, the city currently has over 140 tourist destinations with 42 tourist destinations and city-level tourist areas that have been recognized by the City People's Committee according to the provisions of the Law on Tourism, including Nhat Tan Tourist Area. Nhat Tan Tourist Area has attractive natural and cultural tourism resources and has welcomed visitors to visit and experience services since 1999. Up to now, the tourist area has attracted a large number of domestic and foreign tourists to visit, experience, relax, explore, and enjoy local and regional cuisine.

Therefore, in the coming time, Tay Ho District will implement projects, focusing on investing in craft villages and creative spaces to promote tourism development, building Tay Ho District into an attractive tourist destination attracting a large number of visitors. Thereby, contributing to the development of the capital's tourism industry to become stronger and stronger.

In particular, during the opening ceremony, residents and visitors enjoyed the epic semi-realistic art show "Spring Festival" combined with a laser mapping light show. The program had the participation of about 50 professional actors and 150 residents of Nhat Tan ward.

In addition, residents and tourists can also learn about and enjoy a unique culinary space with 15 booths, introducing the culinary quintessence of Tay Ho district in particular and Hanoi in general, such as: Quang An lotus tea; Phu Thuong sticky rice and sweet soup (recently recognized as a National Intangible Cultural Heritage); Xuan Dinh ham, fish cakes...

The program attracted a large number of visitors to attend.

In addition, the program also introduces Hanoi's tourism products with many attractive tours, handicraft products from craft villages such as: Thuy Ung horn comb (Thuong Tin district), Chuong village conical hat (Thanh Oai district)...
