This program is part of a series of activities commemorating the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of Hanoi (October 10, 1954 - October 10, 2024). It is also an opportunity for Hanoi's tourism industry to continue promoting the image of Hanoi as a "Safe - Friendly - High-Quality - Attractive" destination, aiming to attract more tourists to Hanoi in general and Tay Ho in particular. This will contribute to the development of tourism in Hanoi and Vietnam in general, and make a positive contribution to the socio -economic development of the country.

Speaking at the event, Director of the Hanoi Department of Tourism, Dang Huong Giang, stated: Building on the positive results achieved in the past, in 2024, Hanoi's tourism sector will focus on promoting cultural and heritage values associated with tourism, building the image of Hanoi as a "Cultural - Civilized - Modern" capital, a "City for Peace "; a "Creative City"; and developing distinctive and attractive tourism products based on existing advantages, which are the culmination and convergence of Hanoi's cultural, historical, and human resources. At the same time, the focus will be on investing in the development of new product types linked to the advantages of each locality, such as exploiting inland waterway tourism routes along the Red River, West Lake, and Dong Mo Lake; developing agricultural and rural tourism products, and sports tourism, etc.

Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Manh Quyen presented the city-level tourism zone recognition certificate to Nhat Tan Tourist Area (Nhat Tan Ward).
According to Ms. Dang Huong Giang, the Hanoi tourism industry aims to attract over 27 million visitors in 2024, a 9.22% increase compared to 2023, including 5.5 million international tourists and 21.5 million domestic tourists. Total revenue from tourism is projected to reach VND 109.41 trillion, a 17.12% increase compared to 2023. Furthermore, in the coming period, guided by the Vietnamese tourism motto outlined in Prime Minister's Directive 08-CT/TTg dated February 23, 2024 – "Close linkage – Harmonious coordination – Extensive cooperation – Comprehensive inclusion – Sustainable effectiveness" – the Hanoi tourism industry will strive to become a preferred destination for both domestic and international tourists.
The "Get on Hanoi 2024" program is the opening event for more than 50 cultural, festival, and tourism activities in Hanoi in 2024, such as: Hanoi Tourism Festival 2024; Hanoi Tourism Gift Festival 2024; Hanoi Autumn Festival; Hanoi Culinary and Traditional Craft Village Tourism Festival; Hanoi Ao Dai Festival 2024, etc.
The program also included the announcement of Decision No. 5642/QD-UBND of the Hanoi City People's Committee recognizing Nhat Tan Tourist Area in Tay Ho District, Hanoi, as a city-level tourist area.

The highlight of the show was a light display featuring 300 drones (unmanned aerial vehicles).
According to Ms. Dang Huong Giang, the city currently has over 140 tourist destinations, with 42 city-level tourist sites and areas officially recognized by the City People's Committee in accordance with the Tourism Law, including Nhat Tan Tourist Area. Nhat Tan Tourist Area possesses attractive natural and cultural tourism resources and has been welcoming visitors to explore and experience its services since 1999. To date, the tourist area has attracted a large number of domestic and international tourists to visit, experience, relax, explore, and enjoy the distinctive local and regional cuisine.
"Today's announcement ceremony recognizing Nhat Tan as a tourist area will create a new step forward in the journey of building and developing Nhat Tan into a 'safe, civilized, and friendly destination,' a unique and typical tourism product of the Capital," said Ms. Dang Huong Giang.

Speaking at the event, Chairman of the Tay Ho District People's Committee Nguyen Dinh Khuyen said that this is a good opportunity for Tay Ho district to introduce its traditional culture and scenic spots and tourist destinations. Therefore, in the coming time, Tay Ho district will implement projects and programs, focusing on investing in traditional craft villages and creative spaces to boost tourism development and build Tay Ho district into an attractive tourist destination that draws a large number of visitors. This will contribute to the increasingly strong development of the Capital's tourism industry.
At Get on Hanoi 2024 - themed "The Colors and Scents of West Lake," the program offered visitors incredibly new experiences, a blend of modernity and epic through a semi-realistic art performance and a laser mapping light show.

Artistic performance
The highlight was a light show featuring 300 drones. Audiences were able to admire iconic images of Tay Ho district such as the Nhat Tan Bridge, the hundred-petaled lotus, and the Nhat Tan peach blossoms.
In particular, during the opening ceremony, locals and tourists enjoyed a semi-live art performance titled "Springtime Prosperity," an epic show combining live performance with laser mapping technology. The program featured approximately 50 professional performers and 150 residents of Nhat Tan ward.
In addition, locals and tourists can explore and enjoy a unique culinary space with 15 stalls showcasing the culinary essence of Tay Ho district in particular and Hanoi in general, such as: Quang An lotus seed sweet soup; Phu Thuong sticky rice and sweet soup (recently recognized as a national intangible cultural heritage); Xuan Dinh pork sausage and fish cake...

The program attracted a large number of visitors.
In addition, the program also introduces Hanoi's tourism products with many attractive tours and handicrafts from traditional villages such as: Thuy Ung horn combs (Thuong Tin district), Chuong village conical hats (Thanh Oai district)... At the same time, visitors will also be able to admire photos from the "Welcome Hanoi City" tourism photo contest.
