Hanoi is interested in promoting the Smart City project.

On October 9, Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh received Chairman and CEO of Sumitomo Corporation (Japan) - Mr. Shingo Ueno, on the occasion of his visit and working in Hanoi.

At the meeting, Mr. Shingo Ueno gave an overview of the scale and operations of Sumitomo Group. Since its presence in Vietnam in 1997, the group has made many contributions to the development of Vietnam in general and Hanoi in particular, with highlights such as the Thang Long Industrial Park project.

Regarding the BRG Smart City Dong Anh smart city project, the Chairman and CEO of Sumitomo Group hopes that the Hanoi People's Committee will continue to pay attention to supporting and promoting necessary procedures so that the project can be implemented on schedule.

On this occasion, Mr. Shingo Ueno and representatives of BRG Group also made a number of recommendations and adjustments to promote and improve the efficiency of the project, including land valuation, site clearance, undergrounding of some power infrastructure, promoting the Hospital Complex - Medical Center project in Vinh Ngoc commune, Dong Anh district...

Appreciating the opinions and proposals of the leaders of Sumitomo Group and BRG Group, Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh affirmed that Sumitomo Group's business activities in Vietnam in many fields have achieved impressive achievements over the past 20 years. Accordingly, Hanoi always welcomes potential partners, including Sumitomo Group, to continue researching and expanding investment cooperation in areas of interest and strength for both sides.

Regarding the cooperation projects between BRG Group and Sumitomo Group, the Chairman of the City People's Committee emphasized that Hanoi attaches great importance to the significance of the BRG Smart City Dong Anh project for the future development of the capital. On that basis, the city government will pay attention to accompanying the project to ensure smooth implementation, and expressed confidence that the cooperation between BRG and Sumitomo Groups will be increasingly effective and achieve many achievements.

The head of the City People's Committee also directed relevant agencies of Hanoi to coordinate in reviewing and removing bottlenecks, guiding investors, etc., emphasizing the need to ensure compliance with legal regulations and ensure project progress.

The smart city project is located at the foot of Nhat Tan Bridge, on the Nhat Tan - Noi Bai development axis of Hanoi, in Dong Anh district. With a total area of 272 hectares, the project has an investment capital of about 4.2 billion USD.

Implemented at the proposal of Japan, the project is one of the components of the Urban Development Area on both sides of Nhat Tan - Noi Bai route, implemented according to the special policy mechanism approved by the Prime Minister . The investor is a consortium of BRG Group and Sumitomo Group (Japan).
