In addition, the city also recorded 7 cases of measles, including 6 unvaccinated cases and 1 case with unknown vaccination history. According to the assessment of the Hanoi CDC, measles cases are on the rise. Patients are recorded sporadically in the area, mainly in young children who are not old enough to be vaccinated or have not been fully vaccinated. It is forecasted that in the coming time, there may be more cases of the disease, especially in the last 2 months of the year.
In addition, Hanoi has also just recorded a case of meningococcal disease in Hoan Kiem district. The patient is a 6-month-old child, not vaccinated against meningococcal disease, the disease started on October 17 with symptoms of high fever, vomiting, and a rash all over the body, admitted to the National Children's Hospital, and tested positive for meningococcal disease.
During the week, Hanoi CDC coordinated with relevant units to organize monitoring, investigation and disease treatment activities in areas with cases and outbreaks. Monitoring dengue fever outbreaks in Ung Hoa, Chuong My, Dong Da, Thach That, Thanh Oai, Thanh Tri. At the same time, monitoring the implementation of the measles-rubella vaccination campaign in communes, wards and towns.
Hanoi CDC requests that the Centers for Disease Control in districts, towns and cities continue to screen and invite children who are eligible for vaccination in the measles-rubella vaccination campaign for children aged 1-5 years old to prevent and control measles epidemics according to the direction of the City People's Committee. Strengthen surveillance of suspected measles rash fever, epidemiological investigation, take samples for testing of 100% of suspected cases, organize zoning, and thoroughly handle areas with patients and outbreaks according to regulations.
