The project is 65.5km long, with a total investment of nearly VND9,920 billion, invested by the Ho Chi Minh Road Project Management Board. The route started construction in January 2023, starting at Van Ninh commune (now Truong Ninh commune, Quang Tri) connecting to Bung - Van Ninh expressway, ending at Cam Hieu commune (now Hieu Giang commune, Quang Tri), connecting to Cam Lo - La Son expressway.

The expressway runs nearly parallel to the Eastern Ho Chi Minh Road, with many intersections and an underpass system under construction to ensure traffic safety and synchronous connection with the existing traffic network.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Dang Quang, Chairman of the People's Council of Quang Tri province emphasized: "The completion and putting into operation of the Van Ninh - Cam Lo expressway section not only contributes to the completion of the North - South expressway in the East but also opens up great opportunities for Quang Tri in attracting investment, developing tourism , trade and services".

Quang Tri simultaneously started construction of 3 resettlement areas to serve the high-speed railway project
On the morning of August 19, in Quang Tri, the first three resettlement areas serving the North-South high-speed railway project were simultaneously started in Dong Son ward, Ba Don ward and Quang Trach commune.
Accordingly, Dong Son ward has 3 resettlement areas, with an area of 21.5 hectares, accommodating 287 households, with a total construction cost of 376 billion VND. Ba Don ward has 1 resettlement area, with an area of 13.3 hectares, accommodating 200 households, with a cost of 280 billion VND. Quang Trach commune has 1 resettlement area, with an area of 7.8 hectares, accommodating 120 households, with a cost of 140 billion VND.

According to statistics, to serve the North-South high-speed railway project, Quang Tri is expected to reclaim 1,865 hectares of land, directly affecting 7,277 households and relocating 21,051 graves.

Three resettlement areas in Dong Son, Ba Don, Quang Trach started construction
To arrange new accommodation for the people, the province will build 51 resettlement areas with an area of over 261 hectares, expected to receive 3,060 households, with a total construction cost of 3,188 billion VND. In parallel, 28 concentrated cemeteries will also be formed, with an area of nearly 60 hectares, serving the relocation of 21,051 graves.
* Also on the morning of August 19, at Vung Ang Economic Zone , Ha Tinh Provincial People's Committee coordinated with Vinhomes Ha Tinh Industrial Park Investment Joint Stock Company to organize the groundbreaking ceremony of the Vinhomes Vung Ang Industrial Park Infrastructure Investment and Construction Project, with a total capital of more than 13,276 billion VND.

The project covers an area of nearly 965 hectares and, upon completion, will become one of the largest industrial parks in the region, with modern and synchronous infrastructure including factories, ports, and logistics. This will be the destination for businesses in the industrial, high-tech, and export sectors, contributing to the development of Ha Tinh's economy and creating momentum for Vietnamese businesses to reach out to the world.
