Previously, To Ngoc Ha (a student majoring in Logistics and Supply Chain Management) and Pham Thi Kim Ngan (a student majoring in Management Information Systems) did not know each other because they studied in different departments. It was only when the National Economics University announced the list of students with the highest scores in the early graduation period that the two girls from Hai Duong were surprised to learn that there was also a person from the same hometown, with the same date of birth, and who graduated from university with the highest score like them.
“There are so many coincidences between us. This is something we never thought of,” they both said.
“Interesting coincidence”
Dr. Vu Trong Nghia, Head of the Communications Department of the National Economics University, confirmed that Ha and Ngan were two of three students with a perfect GPA of 4.0/4.0, who were awarded degrees in the school's early graduation this year. Mr. Nghia said this was an "interesting coincidence".
“In 2023, the school will have its first valedictorian with a 4.0 since changing the scoring method to a 4-point system in 2013. The cases of Ha and Ngan are the first time this has happened,” said Mr. Nghia.

To Ngoc Ha and Pham Thi Kim Ngan are two female students from Hai Duong . Ngoc Ha studied in the specialized Math class of Nguyen Trai High School for the Gifted, while Kim Ngan studied at Ha Dong High School, and was admitted to the National Economics University thanks to the admission method combining high school graduation exam scores and the second prize in the provincial excellent student Chemistry subject.
Although they don't know each other, they both have something in common: from their first year they set a goal of getting excellent grades in all subjects.
“Having goals early and always setting a study plan helps me stay proactive and increase efficiency in the learning and exam process,” Ngoc Ha said.
Therefore, right from the first lessons, Ha always tried to "use time effectively". Even though she didn't study too much at home, she had to concentrate completely in class and be ready to ask questions directly if she had any problems.
In the second year, in addition to general subjects, students begin to approach specialized subjects. Due to the wide range of knowledge with diverse subjects, to avoid dispersion, Ha often makes a timetable to study each subject right from the beginning of the semester.
“For example, in my subjects, Marketing is not my strength. With subjects that require concentration and a lot of time for exercises like that, to achieve a score of 4.0, I have to try little by little, from attendance to midterm scores, instead of thinking 'Let's wait until the end of the semester and then try our best'.”

Like Ha, Ngan believes that "concentrating on listening to teachers and learning right in class is much more effective than diligently recording to fill up your memory and listen to it again at home."
When it comes to exam time, when she needs to review many subjects at the same time during the week, the female student also divides her study schedule into 2 subjects/day. For subjects that she is strong in and has a solid grasp of knowledge, Ngan often spends less time focusing on subjects that she is not confident in or has a lot of credits. Thanks to this study strategy, during the semesters, both Ngan and Ha got full A's in all subjects.
Always volunteer to be the group leader in group exercises.
Another thing that both of these female students with perfect graduation scores have in common is that although they are not class monitors, they always volunteer to be group leaders in group exercises. According to Ngan, this can help her “control the completion”, grasp and cover the tasks.
“Luckily, I have very good teachers and friends around me. We can support each other in studying and finding rich sources of documents,” Ngan said.
However, the female student also believes that each person's initiative is still the most important factor to achieve high results in studying. This initiative comes from setting goals and making plans; actively listening and taking notes; actively asking questions to friends and teachers...

Pursuing the Management Information Systems major, Ngan learned how to design information systems applied in business operations. Within half a year of graduating earlier than her peers, Ngan applied and started working at the company as a business analyst.
Ngan's current job is to design databases, software simulation interfaces, write business documents and control software quality based on business requirements.
However, the female student said that if given the opportunity, she still wants to study at a higher level abroad, then return to teach based on the experience she has accumulated.
As for Ha, the female student is completing the last courses of her second bachelor's degree program - E-commerce. This is the program Ha has been studying for a dual degree since her second year of university.
“I will soon be doing an internship in my second major. During this time, I also hope to continue improving myself by learning Chinese.”
With two degrees in E-commerce, Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Ha hopes that the knowledge she has learned will be linked and complement each other, thereby being able to flexibly develop the career she pursues.
