
On the afternoon of October 24, Comrade Le Anh Quan, Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Hai Phong City People's Committee received and worked with the European Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (EuroCham) led by Mr. Bruno Jaspaert, Chairman of the European Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam, General Director of DEEP C Industrial Park Complex.
Also attending were representatives of leaders of city departments, branches and sectors.

At the meeting, Permanent Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Le Anh Quan welcomed EuroCham enterprises to visit and learn about investment opportunities in Hai Phong city.
He said that after merging Hai Phong city with Hai Duong province from July 1, 2025, the city will have a population of more than 4.6 million people and the economy will rank third in the country.
Hai Phong has a synchronous and modern transportation system with all 5 types. At the same time, it is the "main gate" to the sea of the North with the deep-water port system of Lach Huyen and the upcoming Nam Do Son port, capable of receiving ships with a capacity of more than 200,000 DWT and connecting directly to European and American seaports.

The city's investment and business environment has continuously improved. In particular, in 2024, the city will rise to the top of the country in four important indexes: Provincial Competitiveness Index (PCI); Administrative Reform Index (Par Index); Satisfaction Index of People and Organizations with the Services of State Administrative Agencies (SIPAS) and Provincial Green Index (PGI).
In terms of economic development, Hai Phong is the only locality in Vietnam that has maintained a double-digit economic growth rate for 10 consecutive years. Not only is it a developed industrial city and a modern seaport, Hai Phong is also home to two world heritage sites: Ha Long Bay - Cat Ba archipelago; Yen Tu - Vinh Nghiem - Con Son and Kiep Bac relic and scenic complex.

Regarding development orientation, the city has identified three main pillars: industry - high technology; seaport - logistics and tourism - trade. Currently, the city has two economic zones: Dinh Vu - Cat Hai Economic Zone and the Southern Coastal Economic Zone. In particular, the city is urgently implementing a Free Trade Zone with a scale of nearly 6,300 hectares with 17 unique and outstanding mechanisms and policies; a Specialized Economic Zone with a scale of 5,300 hectares...
According to the Standing Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Le Anh Quan, Hai Phong is currently one of the leading localities in the country in attracting foreign investment, with 1,740 valid FDI projects, total registered investment capital of over 50 billion USD. Of these, there are 60 investment projects from Europe with a total capital of 1.7 billion USD.
The Standing Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee affirmed that the city always welcomes and creates maximum conditions for EuroCham enterprises to promote cooperation and implement investment projects in the city.
At the meeting, EuroCham business representatives expressed their impressions of the socio-economic development, traffic and urban infrastructure of Hai Phong city. Delegates were interested in the mechanisms and preferential policies for investors when investing in the Hai Phong Free Trade Zone.
Representatives of the city's departments, branches and sectors also discussed and clarified issues of concern to EuroCham businesses, learned about and agreed on a focal point to increase exchanges and detailed information about projects that businesses are interested in.
