Two key projects of Viettel Group, with an investment of 1 billion USD, are part of a series of simultaneous groundbreaking and inauguration activities for 250 projects in 34 provinces/cities nationwide with a total investment of 1.28 trillion VND, commemorating the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2nd.
This project is of foundational significance, affirming the role of this corporation in implementing Resolution 57 of the Politburo on developing a system of national key research and testing centers and laboratories, focusing on strategic technologies.
The Viettel Research & Development Center project is being invested with 10,000 billion VND, covering an area of 13 hectares in the Hoa Lac High-Tech Park.
The project comprises six smart buildings, scheduled for completion in 2030. It will serve as a key R&D center, encompassing the entire process of research, design, prototyping, and manufacturing of high-tech products Made in Vietnam.
This center will master the technologies for manufacturing various types of missiles, cruise engines, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), remote sensing satellites, radar, etc., to create military equipment suitable for national defense requirements.
Furthermore, the center conducts research on the application of big data, artificial intelligence (AI), cloud computing, and other technologies to develop devices, software, solutions, platforms, and services that meet the practical needs of the market and align with global technological trends.
The project applies international standards in design and operation, integrating smart, green, and sustainable elements to meet high professional requirements while being environmentally friendly.
This facility is also built with a comprehensive safety and security system, utilizing the most advanced technology and protected by multiple layers of security. It is expected to attract 2,500 highly qualified personnel.

The An Khanh Data Center is being built on an area of 1.9 hectares, with a total investment of 17,500 billion VND and a designed capacity of 60MW. The project is expected to become the largest data center in Northern Vietnam.
Viettel Group anticipates that phase 1 will be operational from Q2 2026 and will be upgraded to become Viettel's second Hyperscale Data Center by 2030.
The building is designed to Uptime Tier III standards, integrates AI developed by Viettel, a five-layer security system, and modern cooling technology, ensuring green and sustainable operation, aiming for Net Zero.
This will be key infrastructure, serving the digital transformation of the Government, the Ministry of Defense, large enterprises, and the deployment of artificial intelligence on a national scale.
