Brave the flood to deliver gifts to people in flooded areas
Since early morning, the truck loaded with relief goods stopped in front of the An Cuu Ward People's Committee headquarters (Hue City). The rain was still pouring down, many roads around the residential area were still submerged in water.
Vehicles could not go deep, so police, militia and people in the hamlets had to wade through water and use boats to transport goods.
The members of the group braved the rain, wading through the water carrying each bag of gifts, loading them onto the boat, then following small alleys, crossing the rushing water to deliver them to each household.
In group 14, An Cuu ward, Mr. Nguyen Tuan (67 years old) trembled as he received the gift and said: "That night, the Loi Nong river water rose very quickly, flooding the house, both the bed and the bed. My wife and I are old and weak, our daughter is sick, and we have a small grandchild. For two consecutive nights, we had no place to sleep, so my daughter had to take her to a neighbor's house for temporary shelter."
Mr. Tuan sobbed: "The house is leaking on all sides, the water is constantly flooding and will not recede. The gift from Tuoi Tre newspaper is like a source of encouragement and consolation for the people at this time."
Until noon, people living along the Loi Nong river still wore raincoats and stood on the steep slope near the main road, watching the rescue boats. Everyone was waiting for hot lunch boxes from the army because many houses were flooded and their kitchens were washed away.

After 200 gifts were given this morning in An Cuu ward, the group continued on their way, bringing hundreds of other gifts to Thuy Xuan and Kim Long wards - areas that are still deeply flooded in Hue city.
