Khanh Hoa's drastic action in checking accommodation service prices during the April 30 - May 1 holidays

(NLDO) - Khanh Hoa province urgently established an interdisciplinary inspection team to control the declaration, posting and compliance with accommodation service prices during the April 30 and May 1 holidays.

The People's Committee of Khanh Hoa province has just requested the Department of Finance to urgently establish an inter-agency inspection team to check compliance with the law on price declaration, price listing, and selling at listed prices by tourism accommodation establishments in the province during the April 30th and May 1st holidays.

This will help to promptly detect and correct shortcomings in state management, while strictly handling violations in accordance with the law, in order to create a healthy business environment for organizations and individuals operating accommodation services.

The Provincial People's Committee also requested that the inspection be conducted within the proper authority, functions, duties, powers, and procedures as prescribed by law.

The inspection team must ensure that the inspection content is focused and targeted, meeting the requirements of state management at all levels and sectors, and contributing to the economic and social development of the province, while not affecting the business operations of the inspected establishments.

The People's Committee of Khanh Hoa province also requested the inspection team to report the results and propose solutions before May 5th.

Currently, Nha Trang City ranks 4th on the list of domestic tourist destinations most searched for by Vietnamese tourists during the April 30th and May 1st holidays.

Surveys show that hotel bookings are increasing, with occupancy rates at many establishments reaching 75% or higher. Resorts in Bai Dai and hotels along the Nha Trang coast are experiencing booking rates of around 90%.

Many resorts in Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa have reached 90% occupancy.

Mr. Vu Trong Thuc, Sales Director of Champa Island Nha Trang Resort Hotel & Spa, said that during the peak days of April 30th and May 1st, the number of rooms booked in advance reached over 90%. The high occupancy rate was due to the relatively stable number of Korean and Chinese tourists, in addition to a significant increase in domestic tourists during the holiday.

"The highlight this year is the surge in bookings from Dak Lak, the Central Highlands provinces, and Ho Chi Minh City. I believe that improved transportation, such as the expansion of National Highway 26 and the smooth operation of the expressway from Ho Chi Minh City to Van Ninh, has encouraged families to use private vehicles for their vacations. The current trend among domestic tourists is to book rooms not far in advance, but rather to arrange their schedules before making reservations. Therefore, we still reserve a certain number of rooms to accommodate this influx of domestic tourists," Mr. Thuc said.

Khanh Hoa has more than 1,200 accommodation establishments with approximately 60,000 rooms, sufficient to meet the current vacation needs of domestic and international tourists.

Representatives from Cam Ranh International Airport stated that from April 29th to May 5th, the expected number of takeoffs and landings is 886, averaging 126 flights per day. This represents a 3% increase compared to the same period in 2024 and a 15% increase compared to the current flight week.
