Kinhtedothi - On the afternoon of March 3, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Hanoi People's Council Nguyen Ngoc Tuan chaired the meeting and signed an agreement to strengthen cooperation between the Hanoi People's Council and the Fukuoka Prefectural Council (Japan) for the period 2025-2028.
Speaking at the meeting, Chairman of the Hanoi People's Council Nguyen Ngoc Tuan expressed his pleasure to welcome the delegation of the Fukuoka Provincial Council (Japan) led by Mr. Kohara Katsuji, Chairman of the Fukuoka Provincial Council, to visit Hanoi.
The Chairman of the Hanoi People's Council emphasized that the delegation's visit took place at a time of special significance, following the visit of the Hanoi High-Level Delegation to Fukuoka, in the context of Vietnam and Japan continuing to promote the development of the "Comprehensive Strategic Partnership for Peace and Prosperity in Asia and the World ". At the same time, this is also an important milestone, commemorating the 10th anniversary of the signing of the official cooperation agreement between the Hanoi People's Council and the Fukuoka Prefectural Council (2014 - 2024). Chairman of the Hanoi People's Council Nguyen Ngoc Tuan expressed his belief that the talks between the two sides will have practical results and great success.
Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Kohara Katsuji - Chairman of the Fukuoka Prefectural Council thanked Hanoi for the reception of the Provincial Council's delegation. At the same time, he said that, implementing the cooperation agreement between the Hanoi People's Council and the Fukuoka Prefectural Council, the two localities have recently exchanged in many economic - cultural - social fields; student exchange, study tours. Through that, the two sides have had many opportunities to exchange and share experiences with each other.
"During this meeting, the two sides will continue to sign a memorandum of understanding, including in the health sector. I believe that this program will further contribute to the relationship between the two localities that have had reliable cooperation in the past," Mr. Kohara Katsuji emphasized.
Chairman of the Hanoi People's Council Nguyen Ngoc Tuan highly appreciated the Fukuoka Prefectural Council for including the "One Health" program in the new period. At the same time, informing the working delegation of the Fukuoka Prefectural Council about the socio-economic development situation of Hanoi in 2024, Chairman of the Hanoi People's Council Nguyen Ngoc Tuan said: in 2024, the city's socio-economic situation achieved quite comprehensive and effective results. The city's gross regional domestic product (GRDP) increased by 6.52% compared to the previous year; attracting foreign direct investment reached 2.2 billion USD, ranking 5th in the country in attracting FDI capital... Currently, Hanoi is focusing on building and perfecting institutions and development policies to create and allocate development space for the capital Hanoi in the coming time. At the same time, put the Capital Law 2024 and the Capital Planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050... into implementation, promoting development in the period towards a new era - the era of the Vietnamese nation's rise.
Reviewing the traditional cooperation between Vietnam and Japan, Chairman of the Hanoi People's Council Nguyen Ngoc Tuan said that the relationship between the two sides has continuously developed and achieved many outstanding achievements in many fields. Notably, the two sides have upgraded their relationship to "Comprehensive Strategic Partnership for Peace and Prosperity in Asia and the World".
Regarding Fukuoka Prefecture, in recent times, Hanoi has also organized many delegations to visit, exchange and work, thereby enhancing the understanding and friendship between the two sides. Based on the long-term relationship between the two localities, Chairman of the Hanoi People's Council Nguyen Ngoc Tuan expressed his hope that the Hanoi People's Council and the Fukuoka Prefectural Council will continue to sign cooperation agreements in the coming time, not only in the fields of health but also in culture, education, urban areas, environment, agriculture, and people-to-people exchanges for mutual development.
"Hopefully, in the coming time, the relationship between Hanoi and Fukuoka will continue to develop. Cooperation activities between the two sides will become more substantial, bring about practical results, and contribute positively to the development of the two localities. I wish the friendship and cooperation between Hanoi and Fukuoka will become increasingly close and develop more brilliantly" - Chairman of Hanoi People's Council Nguyen Ngoc Tuan expressed.
To acknowledge the results of the talks and orient the bilateral cooperation in the next period, the Hanoi People's Council and the Fukuoka Prefectural Council agreed to sign an agreement on strengthening cooperation for the period 2025 - 2028, including the addition of the "One Health" program. This is a program built by Fukuoka Prefecture on the basis of Japan's high-quality healthcare, which has positive implications for preventing infectious diseases and taking care of people's health.
