Voters of Hoan Kiem district welcome the effectiveness of supervision by People's Councils at all levels of the city.

Kinhtedothi - On the morning of November 29, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Hanoi People's Council Nguyen Ngoc Tuan and delegates of the City People's Council of Constituency No. 2 (Hoan Kiem District) met with voters before the 20th Session of the Hanoi People's Council, term XVI, 2021-2026.

Voters petitioned on many issues in the urban sector.

At the meeting, the delegation of the People's Council of Hoan Kiem district informed voters about the content and program of the 20th session of the Hanoi People's Council, term XVI, 2021-2026.

Accordingly, the 20th session of the City People's Council is expected to take place from December 9 to December 13. The session will consider and approve 59 contents including: 25 reports; 34 resolutions (including 18 legal resolutions; 16 individual resolutions) .

At this session, the City People's Council will spend 1 day to conduct questioning and answering activities on the implementation of socio -economic tasks and urgent issues that City People's Council delegates and voters of the capital are interested in.

Delegates also informed voters about the results of implementing socio-economic targets in 2024; the results of resolving petitions of voters of Hoan Kiem district at previous meetings.

Voters welcomed the innovation and improvement of the effectiveness of supervisory activities of the People's Councils at all levels of Hanoi, which have practically contributed to the overall results of socio-economic development in the area.

Giving opinions on some specific issues, voters of Hang Bai ward requested that all levels have solutions to ensure environmental safety and hygiene, fire prevention, etc. Along with that, they requested that the city and Hoan Kiem district assign the People's Committee of Hang Bai ward to temporarily manage the area used as a community activity place for residential groups.

Voters of Cua Dong ward requested the city's departments and branches to remove obstacles in granting "red books and pink books" to people who still have land in residential areas - especially land adjacent to villas that have been sold for a long time, only outbuildings left by people renovating temporary houses or building new ones on vacant land or self-managed houses belonging to ministries, branches, companies, and enterprises in the old quarter, old streets...

Secretary of the District Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Hoan Kiem District Vu Dang Dinh, on behalf of the delegation, informed voters about the content and program of the 20th Session of the City People's Council.

At the same time, voters are also concerned about flooding, environmental pollution, and urban infrastructure improvement. Voters from Cua Dong ward proposed that the city consider and have a plan to reduce flooding time for Phung Hung - Cua Dong - Hoan Kiem streets and propose synchronous connection with the railway and renovation of Phung Hung flower garden.

Voters also proposed to renovate the overall urban infrastructure in the area, paying special attention to the old quarter and old streets of the city; having solutions to handle the situation of construction works, renovations, bridges, culverts, pavement maintenance... causing pollution to preserve the urban landscape and protect the environment.

Mr. Le Ngoc Binh, a voter of Hang Buom ward, hopes that the city will continue to concretize the contents of the Red River planning by speeding up the implementation of the policy of renovating the banks of the Red River, especially the section through the inner city districts, including the two wards of Phuc Tan and Chuong Chuong of Hoan Kiem district.

At the same time, voters also proposed that the city have a special mechanism for the project to renovate 132 bridge arches in Hoan Kiem district to be implemented, creating a highlight for the capital because the bridge arches are places of historical, cultural and tourist value; it is necessary to regularly maintain the spans of Long Bien bridge to ensure safety.

Rapid and scientific implementation of the Capital Law

Speaking at the meeting with voters, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee and Chairman of the City People's Council Nguyen Ngoc Tuan thanked voters for their enthusiastic and responsible opinions and the efforts of Hoan Kiem district leaders in resolving voters' petitions.

Emphasizing that the General Secretary as well as the city's leaders are very interested in meeting voters, Chairman of the City People's Council Nguyen Ngoc Tuan requested that in the coming time, the city's agencies pay attention to resolving voters' petitions fully, qualitatively and effectively.

Providing voters with more information about the results of the implementation of socio-economic development tasks, Chairman of the City People's Council Nguyen Ngoc Tuan said that in recent times, the City has implemented many important tasks, organized major activities and events, including the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital; growth targets have been achieved well, social security in the area has been ensured... The results have had significant contributions from businesses and people, including Hoan Kiem district.

Voters expressed their opinions and recommendations at the meeting with City People's Council delegates.

Regarding the content of the 20th session of the City People's Council, the Chairman of the City People's Council said that this session has 59 contents, including many contents implementing the Capital Law. This shows that the City is quickly and scientifically implementing the contents of the Capital Law, to soon put the Law into effective implementation in life.

Regarding some opinions and recommendations of voters on public property management, granting land use right certificates, resolving flooding, renovating flower gardens, overcoming environmental pollution... Chairman of the City People's Council Nguyen Ngoc Tuan suggested that Hoan Kiem district have solutions to effectively resolve them; review and make overall statistics across the district of cases that have not been granted red books as suggested by voters, from there recommending that the City have solutions to handle them simultaneously and thoroughly.

In particular, with the problem of environmental pollution, waste, air... Hoan Kiem district needs to mobilize the entire political system, voters and people to join hands in protecting the environment by changing habits of waste treatment, classification and collection.

Regarding the project to renovate 132 arches, the Chairman of the City People's Council requested Hoan Kiem District to classify them for clearance and renovation. In locations related to railway safety, the Ministry of Transport can be consulted to remove obstacles. Along with that, the district should develop a roadmap and specific plan to handle these arches, clearly indicating the obstacles. In particular, with the voters' recommendation to renovate Long Bien Bridge, Hoan Kiem District needs to advise the City to consult the Ministry of Transport to assign Hanoi City to manage and renovate to create a tourist highlight for the area.

Based on the answers to voters' opinions and recommendations, Chairman of the City People's Council Nguyen Ngoc Tuan hopes that voters of Hoan Kiem district will continue to contribute ideas to build the district, build a civilized, modern capital in the new era - the era of national growth.
