Haaland shone in the Premier League in his first season with Man City. He scored 42 goals in 37 appearances in all competitions.
Previously, the Norwegian striker joined Man City with a contract worth 51 million pounds from Borussia Dortmund, despite interest from many big clubs across Europe.
However, AS said that Los Blancos leaders are planning to recruit the Norwegian star and are confident of having Haaland's services in 2024.
The Madrid giants are planning to make a world record transfer offer of around £200m, surpassing Neymar's move to PSG in the summer of 2017.
The bosses at Bernabeu know that the contract between Haaland and Man City includes a contract release clause that will be activated from the summer of 2024.
Therefore, Real Madrid will keep in regular contact with Haaland's representative to gain priority at the negotiating table.
Real Madrid believe Haaland could leave the Etihad even if manager Pep Guardiola (who played a key role in signing him) stays in Manchester.
Real Madrid are hatching big plans for next year, with a top attacking trio of Haaland, Mbappe and Vinicius Junior.
By the time they hope to sign Haaland and Mbappe, veterans like Karim Benzema, Luka Modric, Toni Kroos and Eden Hazard will be gone.
That means Real Madrid will free up at least 50 million Euros from the salary fund so they can meet the financial needs of Haaland and Mbappe.
