On June 7 and 8, nearly 104,000 candidates in Hanoi will take the entrance exam for grade 10 public high schools for the 2025-2026 school year.

With the selection of about 64% of candidates for public schools, the exam is highly competitive, attracting special attention from society. In particular, this is the first exam under the 2018 GeneralEducation Program.

Candidates must take three subjects: Math, Literature and Foreign Language. Besides English, candidates can choose any foreign language among French, Japanese, German, Korean to take the entrance exam to all high schools in the city and still study English as their main foreign language.

This year, the total admission score will be reduced from 50 to 30 due to the doubling of math and literature scores. In addition, the exam scores and the benchmark scores will be announced at the same time.

The organization of the exam, especially the invigilation stage, has been given special attention by the Hanoi Department of Education and Training. According to the calculations of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, the city mobilized about 16,000 officials and teachers to participate in invigilation work at more than 200 exam sites.

On June 3, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training will hold a conference on exam invigilation guidance with the participation of all high school principals, heads and deputy heads of exam sites, and a team of technicians.
