This year’s edition recorded an impressive record with 2,500 international athletes from nearly 70 countries, nearly double the number in 2024. This remarkable growth shows the stature and strong attraction of the tournament, and opens up great opportunities for Vietnamese marathon to reach the world in the near future.

Despite the sudden heavy rain in Hanoi's sky in the early morning of November 9, thousands of runners in the 42km distance (Full Marathon) were still present on time at the starting line, saluting the flag before walking on the track.

Each powerful step under the heavy rain exuded a special energy and unstoppable spirit. The cold rain further highlighted the athletes’ will to conquer the heritage trail.

Athletes ran through historical routes and admired dozens of historical and cultural heritages of the thousand-year-old capital.

The moment when runners run past President Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum is not only a part of the marathon course but also a meaningful connection between sportsmanship and national historical heritage.

The route took runners past Dong Xuan Market, which preserves the ancient architecture and traditional commercial life of old Hanoi. Then, runners continued past the State Bank of Vietnam, a building with outstanding Indochinese architectural style, showing a harmonious combination of history and modernity.

The presence of international athletes shows the stature and strong attraction of Standard Chartered Marathon Heritage Hanoi on the global running map.

The new highlight of this year's race is the 10km finish line through the windy West Lake, a highlight that demonstrates the efforts of the Organizing Committee in bringing athletes inspiring, comfortable and easy-to-achieve finishing moments.

During the 42km, 21km and 10km races, Hanoi weather challenged the athletes with heavy rain, strong winds and cold air. However, the harsh weather could not stop the strong steps.

With determination and will to conquer the peak, the runners showed their steely spirit, spread positive energy and broke through to the finish line, turning difficult conditions into a memorable part of the journey.
