On November 4, on the Maspero River ( Can Tho City), a competition took place between 61 male and female ngo boat teams. This is one of the activities at the Ok Om Bok Festival - Can Tho City Ngo Boat Race 2025.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Van Khoi, Vice Chairman of Can Tho City People's Committee, said that in recent times, the city's Party Committee and government have focused on mobilizing and maximizing the effectiveness of resources to care for the lives and create conditions for ethnic minorities to feel secure in working and producing.
In an effort to build a civilized and modern Can Tho, the city pays special attention to preserving and promoting the unique cultural values of ethnic minorities, including the Khmer people.
In particular, the Ok Om Bok Festival - Ngo boat racing is a unique and long-standing traditional cultural feature of the Khmer ethnic group in the South, creating a joyful atmosphere and solidarity among the ethnic groups in the localities in the region.

Mr. Nguyen Van Khoi, Vice Chairman of Can Tho City People's Committee, spoke at the opening ceremony.
The Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee requested all the Ngo boat teams to compete with the spirit of solidarity, honesty, nobility, and joy in communication and competition; and to do their best to serve the audience.

In addition, the referee team is responsible for running the tournament in an impartial and objective manner, honestly reflecting the achievements of the teams, in order to encourage the development of the movement and contribute to the success of the Ngo boat racing tournament.

The Ngo boat race took place on November 4 and 5. According to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the total prize value for the winning teams and the qualifying round winners was up to 1.4 billion VND.
