Doan Di Bang's husband's company profile distributing shampoo revoked

The Drug Administration of Vietnam ( Ministry of Health ) has just issued a decision to suspend circulation, recall and destroy the entire batch of Hanayuki Shampoo products (300g bottles) due to not meeting quality standards.

According to the product label, the batch has PCB receipt number: 780/24/CBMP-DN; batch number: 0010125; production date: January 5, 2025; expiration date: January 4, 2027. The unit responsible for distribution is VB Group Trading and Service Company Limited (HCMC), while EBC Group Company Limited (now EBC Dong Nai Medical Factory Joint Stock Company) is responsible for production at Giang Dien Industrial Park, Dong Nai.

Test results conducted by the Ho Chi Minh City Institute of Drug Testing showed that the product sample violated microbial limits and contained 2-Phenoxyethanol - an ingredient not included in the registered and published formula.

In response to the above violations, the Drug Administration of Vietnam requested to immediately stop trading and using the Hanayuki Shampoo product batch nationwide and return it to the supplier.

Local health departments shall widely notify and supervise the recall, destruction, and handling of violators in accordance with regulations.

VB Group and EBC Dong Nai must notify the distributors of the recall, receive the returned products, recall and destroy all violating shipments, and send a report of the results to the Department before June 8.

The National Business Registration Portal shows that VB Group Trading and Service Company Limited was established in April 2021. The company's main business line according to its business registration is wholesale of other household items. The company's headquarters is located in District 5, Ho Chi Minh City. The company's charter capital is VND 8 billion.

At the time of establishment, the General Director and legal representative of the enterprise was Mr. Luong Minh Hung (born in 1997). As of July 2024, Mr. Hung is the owner of the enterprise.

However, from July 11, 2024, Mr. Nguyen Quoc Vu (Doan Di Bang's husband) became the business owner, legal representative and General Director of the company. Tax declaration information shows that the business has 10 employees.

This company is the legal entity behind the Hanayuki cosmetics brand. Hanayuki's website shares a lot of information about Mr. Nguyen Quoc Vu and Doan Di Bang.

In terms of business activities, the brand specializes in providing personal care products and cosmetics from sanitary napkins, toothpaste, sunscreen to detangling combs with prices ranging from 200,000 to 600,000 VND.

As for EBC Dong Nai Medical Factory Joint Stock Company, the predecessor is EBC Cosmetics Giang Dien Company Limited, established in November 2014. The main business line is the production of cosmetics, soaps, detergents, polishes and cleaning products.

The company has a charter capital of 2 billion VND. Two individuals contributed capital, including Mr. Bui Minh Dang, who contributed 980 million VND, and Mr. Dinh Van Lien, who contributed 1.02 billion VND. Mr. Dang is the legal representative and Director of the enterprise.

In 2017, the company changed its name to EBC Pharmaceutical Company Limited. In 2021, the company changed its name to EBC Group Company Limited. At this time, Mr. Dien was the Chairman and Director, the legal representative. The company has a charter capital of 43 billion VND. After that, the company changed its legal representative many times.

In January, EBC Group Company Limited changed its business type to EBC Dong Nai Medical Factory Joint Stock Company. The General Director and legal representative is Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Phuong. The company has a capital of 60 billion VND.

Shareholders contributing capital include EBC Pharmaceutical Group Joint Stock Company (contributing 59.1 billion VND), Mr. Vuong Thanh Long (600 million VND) and Mr. Pham Minh Duc (300 million VND).

By the morning of May 8, Hanayuki’s website could no longer find the shampoo product that had just been recalled by authorities. Doan Di Bang’s Tiktok channel could no longer find the product either.

Currently, both Doan Di Bang and Nguyen Quoc Vu have not had any response about the incident with Hanayuki shampoo product.

In addition to VB Group, Nguyen Quoc Vu was also the legal representative of VB Universal Trading and Service Company Limited and The World Steak Private Enterprise. Both of these businesses have ceased operations.
