In the friendly match between Man United and the ASEAN All-Stars team, Nguyen Hai Long was the only player from the Vietnamese team in the starting lineup.
In the first 15 minutes, the home team played quite proactively, creating some notable opportunities. Hai Long had 4 finishing situations in the match. Before that, this midfielder had twice caused trouble in front of the Man United goal, once sending the ball wide of the post and once taking a free kick that flew over the bar.

Earlier, in the 34th minute, goalkeeper Patiwat Khammai also made an excellent save after Mainoo's long-range shot from about 26 meters. The ball lightly hit an ASEAN defender and flew to the lower left corner, but Patiwat dived in the right direction, pushing the ball out safely.
In the second half, coach Kim San-sik let Hai Long rest and the three remaining Vietnamese players, Hoang Duc, Duy Manh and Van Vi, entered the field one after another. Coach Amorim also made adjustments by sending Garnacho, Amad Diallo and Bruno Fernandes onto the field.
In this half, the match continued to be a draw until the 73rd minute, Adrian Segecic had a through ball in the middle, eliminating 3 red shirt players to help Maung Maung Lwin (Myanmar) break the deadlock with a diagonal shot.
