More than 1.7 million students in Ho Chi Minh City will have the 2025 New Year holiday on Wednesday, January 1, 2025. The holiday will last 1 day.

According to the announcement of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, students will have a 1-day holiday for New Year 2025.

Meanwhile, during the Lunar New Year, students will have 11 days off. The break will last from January 23, 2025 (December 24, Giap Thin year) to February 2, 2025 (January 5, At Ty year). This break has been increased by 2 days according to the 2024-2025 school year schedule previously issued by the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee.

According to the Department of Education and Training, this is to facilitate students and parents to travel for Tet and not affect the school year schedule.

Currently, students of primary, secondary and high schools are entering the final exam period of the first semester. The second semester will start from January 17, 2025 and ensure 17 weeks of actual study, the remaining time is for other activities. The 2024-2025 school year ends before May 31, 2025.

For primary school level: consider completing the program before June 30, 2025; complete enrollment in grade 1 for the 2025-2026 school year before July 31, 2025.

For junior high school level: consider graduating from junior high school before June 30, 2025; complete enrollment in grade 6 for the 2025-2026 school year before July 31, 2025.

For high school level: complete enrollment in grade 10 for the 2025-2026 school year before July 31, 2025.
