The 10th National Phu Dong Sports Festival is the largest-scale sports festival for high school students, directed by the Government, assigned to the Ministry of Education and Training in coordination with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and People's Committees of provinces and cities.
On the evening of July 28, the 10th National Phu Dong Sports Festival opened in Hai Phong City with 10,000 athletes and coaches from 63 provinces and cities.

The event aims to maintain and promote the movement of the whole population to exercise following the example of great Uncle Ho; encourage high school students to regularly practice and compete in sports in school to improve health and physical fitness, contributing to comprehensive development; at the same time, discover the talents and sports abilities of high school students to nurture a source of athletes for the country.
After 8 years, the 10th National Phu Dong Sports Festival returns with 2 phases: phase I - regional takes place from April 18 to June 22; phase II - nationwide takes place from July 25 to August 6.
The Sports Festival is being implemented on a large scale, systematically, and completely from the identity image, communication work to the organization method, promising to bring exciting sports festivals, awaited and cheered by more than 24 million students, teachers, schools and families across the country.
Here, students will compete for 217 sets of medals in 15 sports: swimming, table tennis, volleyball, soccer, basketball, badminton, chess, shuttlecock, athletics, karate, tug of war, Taekwondo, aerobics, Vovinam, and traditional martial arts.
This is also an opportunity for students to exchange, learn, share experiences and raise awareness about sports training.
The closing ceremony of the Sports Festival takes place at 3:00 p.m. on August 6.
