On the evening of May 17 at the Lao National Cultural Palace in Vientiane, the Vietnamese Embassy in Laos, in coordination with the Vietnam Cultural Center in Laos, the General Association of Vietnamese in Laos and the Vietnamese Business Association in Laos, organized a mass art performance in the Vietnamese community in Laos in 2025 to practically celebrate the 135th birthday of beloved President Ho Chi Minh (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2025).
Attending the event were representatives of the Lao National Assembly ; representatives of the Lao Party, State and Government; representatives of ministries, departments, branches, central and local organizations of Laos; representatives of agencies besides the Vietnamese Embassy in Laos, and a large number of Vietnamese people living, studying and working in Laos.
Speaking at the festival, Vietnamese Ambassador to Laos Nguyen Minh Tam reviewed the life and great revolutionary career of President Ho Chi Minh - the genius leader of the Vietnamese people, the exemplary communist soldier, and the world cultural celebrity.
Ambassador Nguyen Minh Tam emotionally shared: "Although he has passed away, he has left the Vietnamese people an extremely precious legacy, which is the Ho Chi Minh Era; Ho Chi Minh's career; Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality, and style, and especially for Vietnam and Laos, the great friendship, special solidarity, loyalty, purity, and never fading."
According to Ambassador Nguyen Minh Tam, the Vietnamese community in Laos has a sacred honor to live, work and study on the very land that bore the footprints of President Ho Chi Minh during his nearly 30-year journey to find a way to save the country and liberate the nation nearly a century ago.
With a sense of respect and pride, over the years, Vietnamese people in Laos have made constant efforts to preserve and promote the cultural and spiritual values of the nation, while actively contributing to the special friendship between Vietnam and Laos.

Ambassador Nguyen Minh Tam affirmed that over the years, cadres, party members of representative agencies and the Vietnamese community, and Vietnamese enterprises in Laos have always actively worked, studied, and trained, making many practical contributions to the cause of building and protecting the socialist Fatherland of Vietnam and Laos, contributing to fostering "Vietnam-Laos, our two countries, the love is deeper than the Red River and Mekong River" as President Ho Chi Minh wished during his lifetime.
Under the colorful stage lights, the audience enjoyed the 16 best performances selected from 49 performances in the preliminary round that took place earlier.
The performances with songs and dances imbued with national identity once again honored the image of President Ho Chi Minh, praised the Communist Party of Vietnam, the beautiful country of Laos and the special Vietnam-Laos relationship.
The festival is not only an artistic playground, but also a spiritual bridge, strengthening the connection between organizations, associations, businesses and the Vietnamese community in Laos and is a cultural activity with strong educational significance, both honoring historical values and promoting patriotism, solidarity among overseas Vietnamese and the special solidarity between Vietnam and Laos.
Amidst the warm applause and the harmonious atmosphere among the Vietnamese people far from home, the 2025 Mass Art Performance in the Vietnamese community in Laos opened an emotional night, where art became a thread connecting souls, preserving memories of President Ho Chi Minh, of the homeland and of the loyal and steadfast friendship between Vietnam and Laos.
Also at the event, an auction of 09 paintings made from Bodhi tree leaves at Phat Tich Pagoda in Vientiane capital took place, aiming to support the Social Security Fund of the Lao National Assembly.
Before closing the ceremony, the Organizing Committee awarded first, second and third prizes and many consolation prizes to the best performances./.
