Works by four contemporary Vietnamese artists were introduced at the Vietnam - Fascinating Beauty Exhibition held from October 31 to November 5 at the prestigious Sotheby's London auction house, attracting the attention of British and international collectors, auctioneers and art lovers.
Taking place within the framework of the 28th Asian Art in London (AAL) Week, the exhibition Vietnam - The Fascinating Beauty is organized by Thang Long Art Gallery. This is the second year Thang Long Art Gallery has participated in this prestigious art event after the success of the exhibition A Glimpse of Vietnam last year.
The exhibition displays outstanding works by four contemporary Vietnamese artists including Hong Viet Dung (member of the Five Group), Nguyen Thanh Binh, Vu Cong Dien and Ngo Van Sac.
With their own distinct style and technique, each artist brings a unique perspective, reflecting the artist's deep feelings about the charming beauty of Vietnam.
The works are a dialogue between nature and humans in harmonious and peaceful settings, like a silent resistance to the turmoil and anxiety of the modern world that is changing every day.
Notably, in this exhibition, the wood burning painting titled “Indochina” (2024) by artist Ngo Van Sac was nominated in the Top 3 of the Modern and Contemporary Award category from the AAL 2025 Organizing Committee.

The work “Indochina” in particular, as well as the wood burning art of artist Ngo Van Sac in general, were discussed at the discussion “Tradition in Contemporary Art” on November 2 at Sotheby’s London within the framework of AAL 2025, with the participation of Thang Long Art Gallery, Lloyd Choi Gallery (Korea), Slaats Fine Arts (UK) and Schoeni Projects (Hong Kong, China).
The Vietnam - Fascinating Beauty Exhibition also includes an Art Talk, introducing the works of 4 artists in particular and Vietnamese contemporary art in general, impressing collectors and foreigners who love Vietnamese art.
In an interview with VNA correspondents in the UK, Sophie Kempson, AAL's Program Development Director, said that Thang Long Art Gallery's exhibition at ALL last year was warmly received, with many works sold to both new and old collectors. This year's exhibition was even more attractive, with many works sold to new collectors.
Ms Kempson said the result really showed international interest in Vietnamese contemporary art and that this genre had the potential to develop in the London market.
For his part, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Long - representative of Thang Long Art Gallery - shared that the gallery participated in AAL in London with the desire to further promote Vietnamese contemporary art internationally.
He said AAL affirms a good platform to introduce Vietnamese art and culture when our country stands together with other major art cultures such as Japan, China, Korea, India and the Middle East.
The event includes not only gallery exhibitions, but also art auctions at major auction houses such as Sotheby's, Bonhams and Christie's.

The auctions were attended by many international collectors and art lovers, so this was a great opportunity to introduce Vietnamese art.
According to Mr. Nguyen Dinh Long, the Vietnam - Fascinating Beauty Exhibition attracted many collectors from many countries, not only the UK and European countries but also the US and Middle Eastern countries such as Lebanon, Saudi Arabia and Asian countries.
The exhibition also received attention in the London art world when the opening ceremony was attended by the Chairman and members of the Board of Directors of AAL, representatives of the two auction houses Sotheby's and Bonhams, international art experts and representatives of major art magazines.
AAL is an annual event founded in 1998 to promote Asian art in the heart of London, attracting the participation of famous galleries, auction houses, cultural organizations specializing in Asian art, experts and scholars in the industry from the UK, Europe and the world.
Every year, exhibitions and auctions at AAL attract a large number of leading curators from major museums and galleries, collectors, artists, art experts and international visitors.
This year's AAL includes about 20 exhibitions and auctions on Asian art, including Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Islamic and Indian art, held simultaneously at Sotheby's, Bonhams and Christie's auction houses./.
