Vietnam - Thailand Friendship Association offers condolences on the passing of Queen Mother Sirikit of the Kingdom of Thailand

On November 5 in Hanoi, Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh, former member of the Party Central Committee, Vice Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council, Chairman of the Vietnam - Thailand Friendship Association led a delegation of the Association to the Thai Embassy in Vietnam to pay tribute and sign the condolence book for Queen Mother Sirikit of Thailand.

Writing in the condolence book, Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh wrote: "On behalf of the Vietnam - Thailand Friendship Association, we would like to send to the Royal Family and people of the Kingdom of Thailand our deepest condolences on the passing of Queen Mother Somdet Phra Nang Chao Sirikit Phra Borommarachininat.

The passing of Her Majesty the Queen Mother is an irreparable loss. Although she has passed on, her legacy, including her humanitarian work, community development and preservation of Thai culture, along with her deep love and companionship with His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej, will live on forever.

We would like to express our deepest respect to Her Majesty the Queen Mother and sincerely pray that she may rest in peace and be blessed in eternity. We would like to send our best wishes for peace and strength to all the Thai people, whose friendship and kindness have always been a solid foundation for the warm friendship between the people of Vietnam and Thailand."

Thailand's Queen Mother Sirikit passed away on October 24 at the age of 93. King Vajiralongkorn issued a decree for one year of mourning to commemorate the Queen Mother.

The Queen Mother is revered by the Thai people for her lifelong dedication to the people, efforts to promote rural development, empower women, and preserve traditional Thai arts and crafts.
