On the afternoon of August 1, the Armored Corps Command and the 1st Corps Command held a conference to hand over and receive the 202nd Armored Brigade of the 1st Corps to the Armored Corps. Major General Do Dinh Thanh, Deputy Party Secretary and Commander of the Armored Corps, and Major General Truong Manh Dung, Deputy Party Secretary and Commander of the 1st Corps, co-chaired the conference.
Attending the Conference were Major General Nguyen Duc Dinh, Party Secretary, Political Commissar of the Armored Corps; Major General Nguyen Duc Hung, Party Secretary, Political Commissar of the 1st Corps, comrades in the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, heads of the Command, heads of agencies, heads of departments, branches, functional agencies, the Finance Department, Office of the 1st Corps and the Armored Corps.
The 202nd Tank Regiment (now the 202nd Armored Brigade) was the first Armored unit established on October 5, 1959. From December 27, 1973, the 202nd Armored Brigade was handed over by the Armored Command to the 1st Corps. Throughout the past half century (from December 27, 1973, the 202nd Armored Brigade was handed over by the Armored Command to the 1st Corps), in the formation of the Determined to Win Corps, the 202nd Armored Brigade has always played a good role as an important assault force of the army, closely coordinating and cooperating with other forces to achieve many glorious feats of arms and excellent achievements in the resistance war against the US to save the country and in building and defending the socialist Vietnamese Fatherland. The Brigade was honored twice by the Party and State with the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces in (1989, 2000); 4 collectives and 2 individuals were awarded the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces; 5 Military Exploit Medals and 52 Exploit Medals of various ranks.

Implementing the policy of building a revolutionary, disciplined, elite, and gradually modernized Vietnam People's Army in the direction of "Elite, compact, strong", on July 8, 2023, the Minister of National Defense issued Decision No. 3021/QD-BQP on transferring the 202nd Armored Brigade of the 1st Corps to the Armored Corps. The handover process was actively and proactively implemented by the agencies and units of the 1st Corps, the Corps and the 202nd Armored Brigade, closely coordinating and completing the appraisal and finalizing the data on time and according to plan.

At the conference, witnessed by the functional agencies of the Armored Corps and the 1st Army Corps, Major General Do Dinh Thanh, Commander of the Armored Corps, Major General Truong Manh Dung, Commander of the 1st Army Corps signed the handover minutes, receiving the original status of the 202nd Armored Brigade of the 1st Army Corps to the Armored Corps. Accordingly, the two units carried out the handover of the following contents: Functions and tasks of the 202nd Armored Brigade; organizational structure; Party organization, Party members; mass organization; weapons, equipment, facilities... ensuring strictness, specificity, and compliance with procedures and principles.
Concluding the conference, Major General Do Dinh Thanh, Commander of the Armored Corps, requested that the Corps' functional agencies continue to grasp the situation, promptly advise, direct, guide, and assist the 202nd Armored Brigade to quickly stabilize its organization and staffing. First of all, focus on building and perfecting the unit's working regulations; specifying the functions, tasks, powers, and working relationships of the Brigade; properly implementing the State's laws, regulations of the Ministry of National Defense, and the Corps' regulations and rules.
For the 202nd Armored Brigade, it is necessary to proactively coordinate closely with functional agencies and units in the Service and the 1st Army Corps to carry out political and ideological work well; strictly maintain discipline and combat readiness regime; train; build discipline, manage discipline, ensure safety; strengthen the relationship between the army and the people; promote the combined strength, create a new atmosphere, new internal strength, new breakthrough power. Promote well the tradition of "Speed to win" of the 1st Army Corps and the tradition of "Once in the army, fight to win" of the Heroic Armored Corps to excellently complete all assigned tasks.
