The 10th "Young Chef" Competition 2024 - 2025: Nurturing talent for the Vietnamese culinary industry

The final round of the 10th "Young Chef" Competition - school year 2024 - 2025 will officially open at 7:30 a.m. on April 16 at the First Hotel and compete directly at Saigontourist College of Tourism and Hospitality.

This year's competition had the participation of 125 teams, creating a bustling atmosphere, full of creativity and passion for the culinary profession. Held annually, the "Young Chef" Competition is organized by the Departmentof Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, aiming to create a useful playground, practical career orientation for high school students and continuing education centers - vocational education in the city.

To equip the contestants with the necessary skills before the competition, the training round of the "Young Chef" competition took place from April 10 to 11 at Saigontourist College of Tourism and Hospitality, a leading unit in the field of tourism, restaurant - hotel and culinary training, attracting nearly 400 students from Thu Duc City and other districts of Ho Chi Minh City, providing a valuable opportunity for them to have early exposure to a professional and modern learning environment.

Within the framework of the training round, candidates directly experienced practical activities such as: preparing Vietnamese dish "Tricolor fried chicken wings" and mixing summer drinks - activities that help practice skills, improve creative thinking as well as teamwork spirit.

The highlight of the training session was the inspirational sharing session "Secrets, Revealing the Exam School" presented directly by the Head of the Culinary Arts Department of Saigontourist School.

Practical experiences and psychological "tricks" to help overcome stressful vocational exams have given students more motivation, confidence and passion to pursue a career in the culinary field.

Not only focusing on professional knowledge, the training course also focuses on developing professional style, problem-solving ability, and cooperative spirit - essential factors for development in the modern service industry.

Accompanying the 10th "Young Chef" Competition is the support of Saigon Tourist Corporation Limited, specifically Saigontourist College of Tourism and Hospitality and De Nhat Hotel.

In addition, Saigontourist School also sponsors valuable scholarships for contestants and contestants with high achievements at the Contest as a gift of encouragement and recognition of the contestants' serious learning spirit and passion for pursuing their careers.
